This is what the weekend is for - playing out.
A super Sunday spent learning how to dye threads
Then using them to create an embroidery
What I’ve not said is that there was also a lot of chatting, laughing, drinking of tea and eating cake going on as well
Of course after an exhaustingly busy day there had to be a trip to the pub for tea.
Another fabulous workshop over in Brighouse, Yorkshire

Love the dyed threads and how lovely to have done them yourself...and even better to use them as well as you do.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting earlier and for my birthday wishes.
Hugs,

Well, that is something different for certain. Dying your threads first of all for your own embroidery and what a lovely idea. I can imagine you had fun ding the dyeing of the threads and then you settled to the embroidery afterwards. Don't forget to show it to us when it is finished will you.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet 7 xx
You’ll probably have a long wait Neet haha x
DeleteHow fantastic! What a great day, I love the way the threads are so variegated. I also LOVE the design that you end up embroidering..is it printed or did you draw it? If you drew it, I may actually turn completely green.
ReplyDeleteNo need to turn green Julia, it’s one of Anne’s designs haha. She does actually sell them online. It was a lovely day x
DeleteWow! Aren't you so clever? Your thread turned out lovely and then to actually use it on an piece ....how amazing is that!

Those threads are gorgeous. What paint did you use to dye them please?
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy they are called Kohinoor dyes and are usually available online x
DeleteWhat do you enjoy most- dying thread or embroidering with it? The colours are lovely and I like the cloth underneath the thread :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed both the dyeing process and the embroidery. I don’t really have a favourite. Probably the best thing would be being in the company of like minded people
DeleteThose colours are beautiful and how nice to have dyed your own threads for your embroidery. I look forward to seeing the finished product. Happy WOYWW. Have a lovely week. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#6)
ReplyDeleteYou'll try your hand at anything crafty, don't you Lynn? Especially when chatting and eating cake is part of the bargain ;-) Dyeing your own thread sounds very exciting, and I'm loving your embroidery! xxx
ReplyDeleteI love meeting up with like minded people Ann. Much like the vintage loving crowd xx
DeleteI love the look of this! I haven't a clue about embroidery but I'd be in my element creating something lovely using those threads. x
ReplyDeleteI only do simple stitches and sometimes I just make things up. Dyeing threads is fun xx
DeleteOoh what fun, dyeing your own threads and then doing embroidery with the thread, really satisfying I'm sure. Please share the finished embroidery when it is done?
