WHAT'S ON MY WORKDESK TODAY

Here's some of the pics from last Saturday's Beginners Craft Workshop.
You may remember my ladies were using safety pins and beads to make these lovely bracelets.
We even found time to make a pair of earrings and a little brooch.

I've also been to a fabulous concert at Bury Met.
Those who read books may know the author Mark Billingham. Well he got together with the husband and wife band My Darling Clementine and together they told a story of murder and mystery.
On Sunday we slipped over to Leeds Town Hall for Lou Lou's Vintage Fair.
As well as a gorgeous tea party we were entertained by these dancing ladies and some wonderful music.
I picked up these wool 1960's trousers for £15.

Now back to business and thinking about what to do for my Christmas workshops.  First up though a peep at a few desks over at Julia's place.

THANKS TO ALL THOSE THAT POPPED BY LAST WEEK
HAPPY CREATING

BITS N BOBS ........................

A dear friend of mine came up with a brilliant idea
for my 60th birthday present.
She got an old print in a frame from a charity shop for less than a fiver.
(these are widely available, I know as I've bought several myself)
She then stripped it back from its frame and
added handstitching to the flowers.
Doesn't  it look fabulous.
It set me off with the idea of adding these
crotcheted flowers to one of my own charity finds.
Two more additions to the Wall Of Flowers in my bedroom
and a good bit of upcycling.

Will it work out or won't it ........

My Beginners Craft Workshop is looming ever nearer
and I certainly tested myself on this one.
I am not good at calculating "how many" or "how long".
I have probably over ordered as usual
Fingers crossed it works out
Here's Harvey the rescued bear modelling what the ladies will be making.
Wish me luck !

Sing as you go and a turnip

Our craft gang had a lovely time yesterday at Park Farm, Ramsbottom, Lancashire when the hardworking team there hosted a two day 1940's Sing-A-Long Afternoon Tea in aid of the local Dementia Society.

It was nice to see people dressed up in their vintage outfits.

The afternoon tea was gorgeous.
I will be booking in again for another of these.

Over a 100 people attended and
we were entertained by a mother and daughter team
who got us all singing along to the songs of the 1940's
We had a quiz as well, which I got the booby prize of
a turnip for having the least correct answers.
I was okay on the music ones but rubbish on the history ones.
Here's me with Susan and Judith two of the sisters that help
to run this fantastic family business.
They are a fabulous family and we all love visiting the tearooms, farm shop, florist and garden centre when we have our monthly craft meeting there.

What's on my workdesk today ........

There will be some crafting going on this weekend now
we have finished gallivanting around the country

I'm prepping for Saturdays workshop as we speak
But here's a new friend that we brought home from
an Aladdins Cave of an antique shop in Kendal.
Harvey the bear with his lovely jumper.
Well we couldn't leave him there for the sake of £5.50 could we.

Also I must get my nose out of this brilliant book and get on with counting out 80 safety pins for each of my crafty ladies.
They can count out their own beads haha
There is always time for a sweep around some more crafty desks over at Julia's blog first though.
