It rained again for the monthly PROM ART at Grange Over Sands, but the big difference this month you will notice is that I had this lovely gazebo to keep all the Doodly Birds dry. I had lots of comments on how pretty, quirky, elegant it all looked and you could hear people chirping "DOODLY BIRDS" as they walked along. WWW.DOODLYBIRD.CO.UK
Despite the rain a lot of people turned out to see this monthly event and we had a great day.
The promenade gardens are beautiful and I was quite near the cafe which has some lovely food and ice cream. It was nice to hear the musicians playing throughout the day at one end of the prom.
An added surprise was meeting a childhood friend Tom Brophy and his wife Susan. We had a real good chew over old times and it was lovely to see Tom again after some 30+ years. Susan has a stall selling beautifully made jewellery. Have a look at her Facebook page Yan-Tan-Tethera-Handmade-Gemstone-Jewellery
Peace and quiet returned by 5.30pm and the husband, me and Frida my VW beetle made our way to the pub for a well deserved Sunday Roast.
Next Prom Art will be Sunday 26th August 9.30am-4.30pm www.promart.info

I haven't captured the 3D effect of this felt hanging we saw at Best of the Best at Waterperry Art in Action, it was quite spectacular.
Here's Jane Ryan's fantastic wooden quirky automated toys. It was lovely to see Jane again, she is such a warm friendly person. We are going to visit her workshop when we go to St. Ives in September. This is a link to her site http://www.opiworks.co.uk/
The weaving of the Uzbekistan people in the international tent is stunning

The Doodly Birds have just landed back in Whitworth from their sojourn to Witney, Oxford where we had a lovely week with my sister that went much to quickly.
Those of you who want to know what was in the box before Cobey the cat claimed it, well look at this.
A late Christmas present from my sis. I've wanted one for ages and this one is like new.
Lucky me also received these early birthday presents.
This little mosaic is of some more lovely pieces my sister Jill has in her home. The orchid has been in flower for 10 months.
Another treat we had was to visit the Watermill Theatre at Bagnor, Newbury http://www.watermill.org.uk/ If you live anywhere near there I strongly recommend you go. It is set in the most idyllic surroundings, has a wonderful restaurant & bar and is very friendly. We saw a truly funny farce of BEN HUR.
Tomorrow I am going to make a few mosaic pictures of the things and people we saw at Art In Action at Waterperry, Oxford. Including this little fella.
