Monday was such a beautiful day.
Very little was done. Swept the front path, did a bit of
hand washing and refilled the bird feeders before joining
Philip for a cuppa in the garden.
I found the perfect place for the felted acorns
that Instagram chum Mandy sent me.
I’ve put them in the bowl I made with dissolvable fabric.
The hops and oyster shells, also from Mandy, look pretty in one
of the chestnut roasting pans we picked up recently at a local
antiques centre.
The wandering welder spent the day in the garden with the
papers and his music. He said to tell you his back is on the mend
but there’ll be no bungee jumping yet.
For those back at work, don’t worry it’ll soon be the weekend again.
Take care
Lynn

I love the felted acorns Lynn. Do tell your hubby it was probably the bungie jumping that did his back in in the first place! Glad he's on the mend.

I love your displays Lynn, always so stylish - the felted acorns are gorgeous and look perfect in that beautiful little bowl you made. The chestnut roaster also looks fab with the shells and hops in it. Glad you and your hubby are enjoying the sun - we've certainly waited long enough for it!

ReplyDeleteLynn, I love the June plate, with the honeysuckle, foxgloves and briar rose with the little poetic pieces added, you and thus your home display an artists eye, beautiful indeed.

Oh what beautiful photos. Love the felted acorns and the pretty yellow dress you are wearing. Oh this weather has changed all of us into happy people. Today will make 3 great days outdoors. HOT Heat will come Fri/Sat You have a lovely space outdoors. ENJOY
ReplyDeleteI always so enjoy your displays and the textiles! Those acorns are adorable and your garden looks a lovely haven. Oh and now you made me think of Ollie Hopnoodles Haven of Bliss by Jean Shepherd (Ralphie and his family from A Christmas Story, if you know of that). I am totally of the ... oh look, squirrel mindset, too easily distracted. Back to the post - glad the Welder is healing. Music in the garden will help that along I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteHappy (Summer?) WOYWW - hope it wasn't here and gone!

I am glad to hear that the Wandering Welder's back is on the mend. Your garden is so lovely! What a gorgeous collection of eclectic articles - the little felted acorns are a delight, and I love the dissolveable fabric basket and the chestnut roaster - perfect to display the lovely things.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit - happy birthday for when it comes. I've had my pension for a while now. I had to contact them to get it and found I could have had it some time previously, and I got a large lump sum to cover all the payments I'd missed! Thank you for your good wishes for my biopsy results. They phoned this morning and want me to go in tomorrow morning to discuss it.
Happy WOYWW,

How delightful everything looks! Your garden looks so peaceful, and I'm glad the WW is on the mend. Love the acorns and the fabric basket and remember seeing the chestnut roasters last week, so it's great to see what you did with one of them. Happy Woyww Elle #27, EOTC
ReplyDeletegosh Lynn, Your friends know just what to send you don’t they! air I’d opened an envelope of seashells and an envelope of hops I would be at a loss to know how to display them. Those felted acorns are the bomb aren’t they, perfect colours for acorn weather. Now then, so glad to hear about the WWelders improving back, what a relief.

ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, don't ask I'll start again Lol! I have to be honest I've been out Lol! We have a friend who is going into hospital soon and our little group of retired teachers just wanted to wish her all the best so we sat and had coffee but I'm back now. If the Wandering Welder has any sense his back wont get better until the weather changes as he looks as though he's having a nice time out there lol! Wishing you a very happy woyww and a lovely week too. Angela x13x

Philip looks very comfy and relaxed on that swanky new garden furinture! So glad he's on the mend now. Jon's currently wired up to the TENS machine, his shoulder is killing him after laying that turf!
ReplyDeleteThose acorns are gorgeous in your beautiful bowl and I love the summery dress you're wearing. xxx
What lovely collection of eclectic crafts! What are the acorn capa made from, may I ask?
ReplyDeleteI also spied an interesting brooch you're sporting, is there a tale to it? I'm also now thinking a chestnut roasting pan is a must have, so the hunt begins. A different kind of enabling this week... 😂
Happy WOYWW

The acorn cups are real and the acorn is made from felt wool.
DeleteI have a collection of brooches from the same lady, all different colours and different words stitched on them. They are so lovely and I wear them every day. The pendant part is papier-mâché. If you use Instagram she goes under the name Resting and Nesting and is called Sam.
Thanks for asking xx
wow!! I LOVE the little acorns! I also love making things with papier-mâché. Its surprising strong stuff and last forever! Stay Safe! Happy very VERY late last weeks woyww! ((Lyn)) #19
