What day is it ?

So on Saturday I found a bit of creative mojo after picking up a stick while out on our walk and then seeing a friends’ Instagram page with a stick she had also picked up on her walk.  She has been doing this daily and then wrapping threads and wools round them, then creating collages.

One of my friends is a nurse working on the frontline and she wanted a headband with buttons to attach the mask to as the elastic is chaffing the back of her ears.  So I took up the challenge and Gail informed me they work a treat so I’m on with the next lot for all her colleagues.

For my free craft Corner outside our front gate I’ve added these little kits for passersby to pick up.
The Teddy Bears picnic display is still loved by young and old as they take their daily walk and next week I’m changing the theme to “Walking The Dog”.

Thanks for joining in last week with “Spill the Beans” it was good fun and how funny that so many of us ate raw sausages as children.  I did have my doubts about vinegar butties though haha.

Stay safe everyone and remember Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down.  So if you’re a bit wobbly don’t worry, we are all the same.

See you next week

  1. OK so vinegar butties are quite weird, but I have a thing for vinegar having been eating pickled onions since I was 18 months old (Mum says she was fed up of saying no). Love how you are cheering up passers by Lynn. Can't wait to see next week's display. Staysafe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #6

  2. Ha Ha you make me laugh - love the weebles and remember little sis playing with them when we were young. Your teddies are lovely, there is a gentleman up the road from us who has his teddies in the garden and moves them each day , so children can find them as they walk by ( so do we as we go for our walk) . Take Care and stay safe . Soojay#16

  4. I love your teddies. My Dad used to give us sugar sandwiches (literally bread, butter and sugar) - needless to say my Mum was NOT impressed. Apparently it was a treat from his childhood. The weebles are fun. Happy WOYWW. Stay safe and take care. With love and God Bless, Caro x (#25)

  5. I'm late in the day managing to get round my blogging friends. I've been busy making 2 Memory dogs for one of my customers.
Oh now Lynn you did take me back a few years with the weebles...our children had some and I always felt a little like they modelled them on me :-)
    Stay safe and keep crafting.

  6. You're a genus helping Gail and her colleagues out with that inspired idea.
Love the teddies and that wonderful crafting gift card and the stick collage, you're on a roll during Lockdown!
Have you seen those new shows with Kristy Allsopp on Channel 4? I can't stand the sight of her normally but she came across really well and it was so relaxing watching her make stuff for an hour!
Stay safe and postitive , you pair! xxx

  7. Hi Lynn. My girls had Weebles - wonder if they still have any of them?? Your teddies there by the gate are a really lovely idea. Vinegar sandwiches would be fine if they were part of a chip butty! Well done with the masks, bands and buttons - a great idea. I know my daughter is doing something similar and has just messaged me with a photo of the fabric she has been given to make scrubs bags!!! Good thing I'm not down there with her - there wouldn't be anywhere to sit!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

  9. The buttoned head bands for face masks is a genius idea, Lynn. I have yet to wear a mask but I was already worrying about the chafing, especially as my ears are already accommodating glasses! The crafting kits are a wonderful thing too! I bet your house is very popular among walkers! xxx

  10. Loving the Weebles and they made me think. When I was a child I loved Troll dolls and collected several over a period of time when I went to college they disappeared and all my mother would say was that they left home! and apparently so did several other things belonging to me. Great idea for the mask, well done. Wishing you a happy and creative woyww, Angela x17x

  11. Loving those teddies and walking the dog will bring many a smile to people who wander by your home. Well done for assisting your friend with the mask and a clever idea. The wobbling weebles are very cute.... no recollection of them from my childhood. Perhaps they never made it down under. Stay safe.

  13. Oh how funny, my family have referred to me as a weeble since the head thing made me wonky! I must say I don’t remember them being so erm, ugly!! It must be a real pleasure to walk don the lane and your house, I noticed yesterday a box of books and puzzles for swap which is a nice thing to do too. I love the teddy bear pic inc, suspect a lot of phots have been caused! Those hair bands are clever, it must be such a relief, I getting itchy and cross with a face mask after about an hour, can’t bear to think what these front liners are putting up with. and, can you come up with something normal looking to hide unkempt, uncut, uncoloured hair next? starting to look like a cave woman here!!

  14. What a fab idea with the head bands Lynn they will make wearing of the kit much more bearable, talking of bears I love your display reminds me of the Teddy bear pinics I used to arrange each term with my pre-schoolers.
What a blast from the past to see those weebles, forgot how scary they looked hee hee.. Take care & stay Safe Tracey #3 x

  15. Another really fun post, Lynn! You are certainly keeping us entertained during the lockdown. I told my hubby about your teddy bears' picnic and he definitely approved - all ours sit in one of our front windows so that passers-by can see them and smile, but we've been doing that for ages and not just in the lockdown. The special headband for the masks is a good idea, and I love your little DIY kits too. I used to have a "Wobbly Man" - a bit like your weeblies but larger. You pushed him and he'd always come upright again. Looking at some of the other comments, like Angela I used to collect those trolls too - there was a craze for them at school and you could get them in lots of colours and they had long hair. You could also get mini-ones that you put on the end of a pencil. Funny, I'd forgotten all about them till now! Like Caro, we used to have sugar sandwiches (brown sugar) and Dad always got us to eat lettuce leaves wrapped round a spoonful of sugar! I can't imagine how we managed to keep all our teeth... He used to eat condensed milk straight out of the tin as well, and we used to give him a tin for his birthday and Christmas.

I love hearing about all the funny things we used to do!

    Happy belated WOYWW,x
