Goodies from London

Here are the goodies I bought in London, very multicultural.
The set of three Indian recycled paper boxes were £6 and I could not resist the leather flowers which were made in Chili and are actually hairslides.
I bought them all from a shop in Camden Lock Market Hall.
Pop back tomorrow to see some photo's I took of the inside of the shop.
You might be wondering about the black and white photo... Its Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and her artist husband Diego Rivera.  After studying her at college and seeing the film with Salma Hyaak playing Frida, I got hooked on the music and just love the story of their lives.  I bought the A5 size print to add to the sepia picture wall in my bedroom
We arrived home from London to find this lovely mail art had arrived from my friend Mo in Scotland.  Philip instantly recognised it as Mo's work. Isn't it pretty.

Also a book that will be good for my Alchemy online embroidery course. I will have to tell the others about it.
I know Helen will kill me but I had to show you this picture of her hard at work on my blanket.  She has been at it for months. What a star.

LOOK WHAT POSTMAN JOHN BROUGHT

First up this lovely apron card made by my blog friend Mo Allan.  It is so pretty and cleverly done.  Thank you dear friend.
I bought some new needles for when we start stitching samples next week on my online design course with Karen Ruane www.karenannruane.typepad.com
Course - Photo's so far
Last up John delivered these fabric pieces that you can scan a design onto and put through your printer.

Now John didn't bring this but another lovely blog friend Helen is making me a crotchet blanket and sent me this picture of its progress.  Its nearly finished, Helen has spent hours and hours on it.  It is going to look stunning.

We are off then .......

Today we are going to stay with my sister in Witney, Oxford for a few days.  I haven't seen her since Christmas so I am quite excited.  We've got lots planned starting off with ART IN ACTION at Waterperry.  This is a massive art festival with every type of art and craft you can think off.  Empty purse stuff, oh and we have to wear wellies.

"Mum help me"

I will just show you the tag I made for this weeks theme of "SEA BIRDS" at the TAG TUESDAY CHALLENGE.  Click on the link and see what other people did as well.

Last week's theme was "SWIMMING"

Link for - Derek the duck goes for Gold

 FINALLY
I can't go off without saying a big thank you to my blogland friend Mo in Scotland.
Without going into detail something horrible happened this week to my Mum and Mo knew how upset she has been and sent this beautiful flower arrangement for her.
 THANK YOU MO.
And thank you to all my blogland friends you are all a great caring, sharing gang. Happy birthday to Logan too.
See you next week if I don't manage to link up somewhere along the way.

Look what Postman John brought ......

I've had some lovely things given to me recently including the Artist At Work peg from my friend Gill at Park Farm Shop & Garden Centre.  If you live in Lancashire and can get to Ramsbottom go and visit their tearoom and shop everything is homemade and its run by a great family.
The map peg was made by my friend Jacqui and the map is of Ayside where our caravan is sited.  She also made me the little red cushion which is now on display in my studio/workroom.
Look at this lovely collage made by Logan who is five this week and lives in Scotland.
He made it with the help of his grandma who sent me this lovely card and sprinkly bits.  I've already used some in a box I've sent out.  Thank you Mo and have a great birthday Logan.
This beautifully made tag came from Mel (the Yorkshire Fox blogger) as a thank you
for the buttons i sent her with a fox on them.
She is such a clever lady.  Have a look at her wonderful creations.

And here's a lunch bag I designed and illustrated for a young lady starting school.
Wrapped up ready to go

Thank you to everyone for the lovely goodies and to Postman John for delivering them and also a big hello to the new followers of my blog.  I hope you like it.

Look what the Postman brought (late) and I sent...(on time)

Jules Watson owner  of JUJU & BUBBA
 www.jujuandbubba.co.uk
made me this lovely textile picture from a photo I sent her of my 9 year old Cyber Green VW Beetle, which I admit being emotionally attached to. Jules helped me enormously with hints and tips when I was setting up my website.

Next came richly coloured tyvek beads from Carolyn Saxby in Cornwall
http://love-stitching-red.blogspot.co.uk/
who also runs the highly successful TAG TUESDAY CHALLENGE.
Carolyn's work is amazing have a look at her links. I am meeting up with her in September when we go down to St. Ives on holiday.

Look what she sent me as a gift.

Here's what I sent.
A book to artist Christina Romeo who did these ATC cards. I found the book when I was looking for something else and thought how much Julian Dyson's work was like Christina's and so I offered to send it to her.

Next the migration of the Doodly Box of goodies upto Scotland.
and finally a gift of a bag, book and two mugs purchased from the Doodly Bird Store for someone I can not mention as they havent got it yet.

And last but not least at all look at this that arrived from my blog friend Mo Allan

This lovely Doodly Bird House is going on the Inspiration Wall in my studio.
With all the lovely things I have been sent recently I think I will have to have a rejig.
Watch out for the photo's.
There's a thought ... Inspirational Wall Blog !
