Charting Dolores's day out

Now as we all know Dolores is fond of a day at the shops and you can see here that she has come into a bit of money.  So she has donned her gladrags got her fake Gucci bag and has hailed a taxi from the Doodly cab company and is on her way.

Unbeknown to Dolores she has been spotted by the village gossip Hilda who will have it all round the duckpond by nightfall that Dolores has been seen heading off to have her roots done at that fancy salon in town.

  Maud who was rushing home for a nice cuppa and to put her feet up after a hard shift at work in Quidsworth had also seen Dolores and sighed to herself thinking I wish I could afford a taxi.

Oh crikey, exclaimed Maud, now I've got to listen to Hilda twittering on about Dolores dressing up like a spring chicken and spending her winnings from the annual duck race.

 If you are wondering what set me off on that one, well a few years ago we saw an exhibition in Canada (nothing to do with geese).  It was absolutely fascinating and if you can look up Mark Lombardi and see what he discovered, how he CHARTED a global network of events and what happened to him.

The Doodly Birds in the village of Ducklington live a far simpler life.

MOSAIC MONDAY

 As the weather in the UK has been so cold and we havent seen many birds I thought I would give the DOODLY BIRDS an airing.

TAGS & BUNDLES

 My inspiration for this week's TAG TUESDAY CHALLENGE  came from these seed heads in my garden

 Staying on the theme of nature look at this cobweb I found this morning

Another tag, this one inspired by the colours of Autumn

 Along with some friends on the 1st December we are doing an experiment where we will bury or hang in the garden a number of things wrapped in a bundle of fabric and paper, leave it for three months and see what emerges.  After unwrapping the bundles and letting them dry out we will attempt to make something with it.

This is a hanging that was made in a previous experiment.  I hope mine turns out as well.

I'm jumping the gun a bit and have started one wrap already. I wanted to use the blackcurrants that were falling from the bush in our garden.  As you can see I've added a sliced pomegranate, raspberries, some spices and flowerheads to lace and tissue paper among other things.

 I put in some old torn book pages, map pieces and some handmade paper.

 Here's my bundle wrapped in twine.  You can the raspberries seeping through already.

And here it is stashed inside my rusty old typewriter in the garden, open to the elements where it will now stay come rain or shine until the 24th January or thereabouts.

Why dont' you do one of your own.  I am hoping for some nice pink effects from this one.  Rust and blue will be what i am hoping to achieve when I do the December one.

Today we are going to stay with my sister in Witney, Oxford for a few days.  I haven't seen her since Christmas so I am quite excited.  We've got lots planned starting off with ART IN ACTION at Waterperry.  This is a massive art festival with every type of art and craft you can think off.  Empty purse stuff, oh and we have to wear wellies.

One or two challenges to contend with ...

This is the tag I made for the theme RIVERBANK over at Tag Tuesday Challenge.

My gazebo arrived today for the Art On The Prom events (sorry about the blurry pic)

The Challenge is to put it up without falling out with the husband.

Next challenge was to design a pen pot with a crazy haired Doodly Bird in a bath.
