She's still going on about St. Ives.......

Last bit now, but I am sure you will want to see the work of
mixed media artist
SUE DOVE
who is part of the St. Ives Society of Artists.
We got to look through some of Sue's sketchbooks.
Oops! should have left them open.

I love this type of work.  Sue was thrilled when we told her we were her Lancashire Fan Club.

Me, Mum and Jill and a Doodly Bird haha !

This is the piece my hubby bought me.  Its aptly named "Birdwoman"
My sister Jill wants one of these when she wins the lottery.
Sue doesn't have a website but if you are interested in her work you can email her at
suedove55@hotmail.com
She also has a book which is available from online bookshops
Painting with Stitches

I am nearly at the end of my journey to Cornwall, one more blog should do it.

Vintage and Art in Marazion, Cornwall

I could have stayed in this delightful shop for the rest of the week.
FINE AND DANDY
is owned by Shevie Moyle and Nell Pascoe

Look at the little pot dolly I picked up for £4

Shevie was telling me that they are to be featured in the next edition of Mollie Makes Magazine.
I am going to pinch her display idea for cards.  These very pretty blue shelves were made by Shevie's hubby.
I felt like I was in a lovely playroom and didnt want to leave.

As you can imagine the family had left me at this point. Once they saw that I had started chatting they knew that was the end of me for at least an hour.  We met up again in the AVALON ART GALLERY further down the road and this time my sister was enraptured too.

The gallery had something for everyone, it was one of the best ones we had been in all week.  They have a great stock of  every form of art and crafts ...... textiles, collage, water colour, ceramics, jewellery.  You name it they've got it.  Jill bought this little piece by CATHERINE HOSKIN.  Unfortunately I can't find a website for her but I have found more of her work here www.cryofthegulls.co.uk.  Or  if you are interested in her work you could always contact the AVALON ART GALLERY at sallyscott@avalongallery.co.uk

Remember the pic of the church kneelers ? Well that was in Marazion
If you visit Cornwall be sure to visit this lovely little town the people are really friendly and there is also St. Michael's Mount for the historical bit. www.stmichaelsmount.co.uk

Look what the Postman brought (late) and I sent...(on time)

Jules Watson owner  of JUJU & BUBBA
 www.jujuandbubba.co.uk
made me this lovely textile picture from a photo I sent her of my 9 year old Cyber Green VW Beetle, which I admit being emotionally attached to. Jules helped me enormously with hints and tips when I was setting up my website.
www.doodlybird.co.uk

Next came richly coloured tyvek beads from Carolyn Saxby in Cornwall
http://love-stitching-red.blogspot.co.uk/
who also runs the highly successful TAG TUESDAY CHALLENGE.
Carolyn's work is amazing have a look at her links. I am meeting up with her in September when we go down to St. Ives on holiday.

Look what she sent me as a gift.

Here's what I sent.
A book to artist Christina Romeo who did these ATC cards. I found the book when I was looking for something else and thought how much Julian Dyson's work was like Christina's and so I offered to send it to her.

Next the migration of the Doodly Box of goodies upto Scotland.
and finally a gift of a bag, book and two mugs purchased from the Doodly Bird Store for someone I can not mention as they havent got it yet.

And last but not least at all look at this that arrived from my blog friend Mo Allan

This lovely Doodly Bird House is going on the Inspiration Wall in my studio.
With all the lovely things I have been sent recently I think I will have to have a rejig.
Watch out for the photo's.
There's a thought ... Inspirational Wall Blog !
