What a busy month May has been. We had another trip to Grange Over Sands so that my 92 year old mum could have a few days in Coach House Bungalow that she loves.
The week after we were in Ruthin, North Wales to visit the new Jessie Chorley Textile Exhibition and have a catch up with lovely friend and mixed media/textile artist Tina Gilmore and hubby Gav.
Upon our return we had a long awaited day out at RHS Bridgewater Garden in Manchester with my sister. Couldn’t believe when I bumped into childhood playmates, twins Pat & Pauline. We will all be 70 this year and haven’t seen each other for 50 years.
If you get a chance to visit the gardens it’s well worth it.
Before our feet could hit the ground our bags were packed again
and we were back in Wales, this time Llandudno with good friends
Trish and Lee.
Look at this fabulous bar/restaurant we went in.
I’d have all this in my house. Oops, oh yes I already have haha.
Well not quite so many light shades
Back home again in my studio and on zoom with my textile group the No Rules Textile Society,
we had a Lace Workshop. Our prompt for the month has been SHARE. Members sent each other pieces of their fabric or paper stash to work into.
There’s been so much more happening as well. The everyday stuff that I won’t bore you with. I will say though
that June is just as full on.
Hope you’ll stay tuned and thanks for popping by.
Lynn

What a fabulous post - so much to see and how lovely to see it all through your eyes. Love the cafe decor I wouldn't mind going there some time myself.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful running into the twins after all those years (you are never nearly 70).
Love that bag from your trip to Ruthin - what a lovely place to visit.

Wow, you’ve packed it in! Your mum is looking very well for 92 bless her, hope you had a great time. And how funny to meet your old friends like that, meant to be! The cafe is Llandudno looks fab, I like that town a lot, last time I visited was when staying when Margaret did a Crop there, seems like ages ago now! Enjoy your busy June xx

My word. You always manage to cram so much in a month it astonishes me. How fab to meet old friends like that. Serendipity! The excess of lampshades really appeals to me, as does the lace. My MIL passed on some scraps, never realizing some of them were from when she made my wedding dress LOL! Makes me smile when I use them. Enjoy your haul.
ReplyDeleteOn time? YES. Happy WOYWW!

ReplyDeleteHi Lynn it's always great to see what you've been up to and it's great to see your mum looking so well and getting out and about. Love the lace samples, I have some old pieces myself they are so beautiful. It makes me happy to see people enjoying working with textiles but sad that so many schools don't offer it anymore. Pleased you liked my felting too. Take care and have a good woyww. Hugs Angela x9x
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed gadding about in N.Wales. We are going to Llandudno in a few weeks time - it's a lovely town. Your post is full of gorgeousness - that lace/fabric is stunning. How special to be able to take your Mum out and about - she looks wonderful . x x Jo 🌈
ReplyDeleteHello Lynn, wonderful post. It's great to see what you've been up to. You're clearly enjoying retirement. I love the wall of paintings/prints in the restaurant at Bridgewater. I've been there but it was a lifetime ago and I'm sure it's changed a lot in the interim. The lace samples are gorgeous. I'm sure you are going to have a lovely time thinking up ways of using them with no rules attached. Have an equally fabulous June. Elizabeth x #15
