SNOW, BEADS AND TODMORDEN

Over the snowy hills I went this morning to my favourite haunt TODMORDEN
Once there I headed straight for the beadshop
Today we learned how to make this bracelet.
This is Brenda's own.  I can't show you mine yet as it is for a friend.
Look at the lovely things you can buy while you are there.
Check Brenda's website for more workshops.
Its a great place to learn a new skill and take something nice home with you.
Then when you have finished spend some time over at the market and pop in one of the many eating houses for your lunch.

Can't you tell I am hooked on Todmorden.

LOOK FOR SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL .....

"Look for something beautiful to photograph every day"
that's one of blog friend Connie's resolutions and I think it's a very good one to follow.
Kikki with a beautiful present from friend Mo
So I am opening my 2013 pages with a photo of KIKKI who has now been with us a month and settled in very well. With Kikki playing a big part in our household I haven't been blogging as frequently, BUT I have some new plans for this year starting with an online workshop ALCHEMY with contemporary embroiderer KAREN RUANE
I am also determined to learn how to crotchet
and to continue to learn the art of beadwork.

I enjoyed the bracelets I made with Brenda at the Bead Shop, Todmorden last year and they made lovely presents www.brendasbdz.co.uk

I wish everyone who has kindly followed my blog a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. We ended the year with 119 followers and over 28k viewings, WOW. I hope you all enjoy good health in 2013 and that you all enjoy everything you do.

IT'S A BUSY TIME

On Tuesday morning I went along to BeadZ at Todmorden and made this lovely bracelet.  Brenda now has a new website/shop where you can see all the workshops she holds and buy online.

On Tuesday evening our craft group had their last meeting before Christmas
and we made these fabulous boxes which Anne Redfern had shown me how to make on her last visit
Wednesday I made a template of the boxes to send to my good friend Mo up in Scotland.
Hope she can get to grips with it.

No more time to blog there are Christmas cards to make and presents to wrap.

Whats on my workdesk today......

Do you remember the beads I bought in St. Ives, well here is what I made.  It is a silver plated herringbone bracelet for my lovely friend Gemma's birthday.

The two workshops I attended on how to make them have proved more than worthwhile. Beadz at Todmorden (link)
I'm thinking Christmas presents here !
These are some of the samples I managed to do at the machine embroidery workshop before my machine broke down.

Now have a look at what other people have got on their desks

What's on my workdesk today

Here are some books and a little box all ready to go.    I was asked to do them  for the teachers at the school where I revamped the head's office.  Ive also got 20 folder covers to do for the children on the eco committee.
These are two beaded bracelets I made yesterday at a bead workshop in Todmorden.  I made them to go with my skirts.  They are done in silver wire wrapping the wire in a herringbone style around the beads.
Check out Brenda's website for other workshops and supplies

On holiday in St. Ives next week but hoping to still link up.
Enjoy some more desks here
