Off to market .......

Set off for market yesterday in my charity shop find curtain that friend Val had made into a dress for me last year.  The curtain and basket are charity shop finds and the brooch I made from scraps.

The Sue Ryder shop had this lovely hand embroidered picture for £1.  When you think of the amount of work that went into it, it seems shameful that its only £1, but it has gone to a good home now.... mine.

The dress is by Tree People and still had a retail label on of £95.  I want a full wardrobe for that.

Its teamed up nicely with the antique full length petticoat that came from Garbo Antiques last year and a wrap round cardi, again a chazzer find.

Not that I know anything about this label but its O'Neills.
Its nice and swingy and has an underskirt with it. £4 from the greyhound rescue shop.
The rest of the outfit is again all chazzer finds.

Not really known for wearing maxi skirts but at £4 I thought I'd give it a go with the retro boots picked up in London last year.

There's some more outfits to show you when I get round to it but I just wanted to slip this fabulous handmade leather bag picked up last week. One friend has her eye on it already.

A week in my thrifted wardrobe

Monday
I do love a good charity shop find
like this orange H&M skirt at £2.49 and cardigan £2.50

Tuesday
was a special birthday lunch with friends,
one of who was 70 so we treated her to a posh nosh.
Dress made from a curtain.

Wednesday
Looks like I've been seriously drawn to orange this week

Thursday
This skirt and jacket are favourites of mine
Wool jacket £7

Friday
I'm still wearing that mustard cardigan with yet another curtain skirt

Saturday
I wore the jacket I had got the week before for £4.50
in the RSPCA shop

Sunday
Back in a curtain frock and a tricel cardigan.
Seen here with Mr Dapper Chap and gorgeous friend Vix.

Monday
and I am wearing this fab Missoni-esque dress from
friend Vix of Kinky Melon Retro Boutique who was trading at
Stockport Vintage Village on Sunday.
Its teamed with charity shop belt and crotchet top.  Fly London boots
and biker jacket because the weather has turned cold again

Foraging on a Sunday

A trip out on Sunday with the other half

Hat Todmorden secondhand market £2

saw us over at Cheadle, Cheshire

Charity shop bag £3

looking for Barnado's Vintage shop, 76 High Street, Cheadle

Now which boots shall I wear today

What a little emporium it is

 and well worth the journey

I picked up this super leather bag from the 50's for £7

and you can't beat proper cotton handkerchieves
especially at £1.99 for the box

We have been looking for some armchair covers for ages
and these just fit the bill.  I need another two now, hope I
can find some for the same price £1.99

Kick us and we get back up

Oh "deer" what can the matter be ?
Well after being broken into last week and the garage door and van being wrecked
I took myself off to the local Christmas Market on Saturday to cheer myself up. It was lashing down with rain but it didn't stop the charity fundraisers, Bacup Coco-nut Dancers, doing their stuff.

Did you get all that. If not have a look at an old video of them

Bagged myself this lot for the grand total of £9.50 in a couple of charity shops.
That's the Christmas outfit sorted.
And look at this little gem
£4.50 for a 21 piece set in perfect condition
It's going straight to one of my favourite places
Park Farm Shop & Tearoom near Ramsbottom.
They hire out china crockery to customers and ask only for a donation which they then give to charity.
You may remember I went to a charity 1940's Sing-a-long recently.
So despite the miserable weather it was a good day.
The brain dead welder, as he is affectionately named, says you can't keep us Holland's down for long. Bless him.
He calls me "The out of work bum artist".
True love, you can't beat it.
