Oh "deer" what can the matter be ?
Well after being broken into last week and the garage door and van being wrecked
I took myself off to the local Christmas Market on Saturday to cheer myself up. It was lashing down with rain but it didn't stop the charity fundraisers, Bacup Coco-nut Dancers, doing their stuff.
Did you get all that. If not have a look at an old video of them
Bagged myself this lot for the grand total of £9.50 in a couple of charity shops.
That's the Christmas outfit sorted.
And look at this little gem
£4.50 for a 21 piece set in perfect condition
It's going straight to one of my favourite places
Park Farm Shop & Tearoom near Ramsbottom.
They hire out china crockery to customers and ask only for a donation which they then give to charity.
You may remember I went to a charity 1940's Sing-a-long recently.
So despite the miserable weather it was a good day.
The brain dead welder, as he is affectionately named, says you can't keep us Holland's down for long. Bless him.
He calls me "The out of work bum artist".
True love, you can't beat it.
Oh, dear...so sorry to hear about the break-in. But you bounced back and showed 'em! I wish you could drop in for a cuppa, too *wink*. xxxx
ReplyDeleteI'm so angry about the break-in. I don't blame you for shopping, it's the best therapy especially when you find lovely stuff. Don't let the bastards get you both down. xxxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame about your break in, it causes so many problems all round. Pleased to hear that you are rising above it!
ReplyDeleteI was disappointed seeing the pic of the "brain dead welder" as I thought it was taken at the vintage doo and you'd dressed him up in one of Winston Churchill's old siren suits!
You always find great buys and I love your latest additions to your wardrobe.
You'll soon have so much you could hire it all out to film and TV companies.
DD1 does wardrobe and, on occasion, I have been with her when she is sourcing items... Brighton Lewes etc., and they are sooo expensive to hire.

So sorry to hear about the break in Lynn :( That's really bad; they obviously took advantage of the remote location, little swines!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas outfit is lovely, you're a real bargain hunter. You'll be needing new storage space son, lol. Sending love n hugs fae bonny Forres xoxox
So sorry to hear about the break-in, I have experienced a couple here too, can understand how you felt. And indeed, what can be better to cheer oneself up then going shopping? Great finds, the outfit in red would be perfect for Christmas and that porcelain set is so pretty, reminds me of the one my mom has.
ReplyDeleteHow awful! The Christmas market must have cheered you up though and I love your outfits! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteOh Lynn, I am so sorry to hear that but good to hear that you have bounced back. My Dad used to have a saying for times like this, he would say - I really hope they s*** razor blades for the rest of their lives! I think it is appropriate in this case.... xxxx
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the break in - what a bummer! Pity they have nothing better to do.
ReplyDeleteI remember the 'Nutters fondly - as a child I used to live in Britannia so it became part of my life at Easter to watch them.
Hugs, Neet xx
