Hello desk hoppers and fellow bloggers, the weeks are flying by and I won’t bore you with all the stuff that is still going on with Mum’s house sale and move.
I’ve done a lot of reading
And over the last fortnight I got heavily into Wimbledon. It’s all pure distraction tactics. I’m afraid to say the last few months has taken its toll on me physically and mentally.
Under the watchful eye of our lovely Scottish tutor Ali Ferguson of The Purple Thread Shed we created these wooden tenement buildings. There was lots of prepping, drilling and stitching and embellishing went on.
Pat made a row of shops
Mine were loosely based on the beautiful cottages in the Cumbrian town of Ulverston.
So now we are spending a few days at our little caravan in the Lake District.
Looks like a great workshop, badly needed to replenish your energy vibes methinks.

Oh Lynn, those little houses are fab and they really did look like the ones in Ulverston! I loved all the elements, they work so well - now that’s a. Workshop I’d have really liked to have joined in! You have to do what’s right for you to get through all the house/mum organisation, it’s not easy. Fingers crossed that it all gets completed very soon.

Lucky duck going on the workshop with Ali.She's such a treasure and lives not far from me. I keep eyeing up her workshops but the timing's never right for me! I shall remedy that for the next one. Happy hols and further reading time.x

Hi Lynn, I have my ups and downs with my mum and have done since Covid started and we lost my dad but doing the best I can. The crafting helps when I can find time to escape to it so I understand the pressures involved. You just have to find some escape when you can to keep you sane. ReplyDeleteAll well here Lynn, very glad to hear that you’ve escaped to the caravan, just the ticket. I think at the time of all the drama and difficulty we just get on with it, and it’s only afterward when there’s a bit more time to think on that you realise quite what an impact it has on you. I hope with some decent rest and time to indulge yourself that you’ll feel revitalised. That workshop looks delicious, I love the houses, great subject for me, no idea particularly why, just love the individuality that you can give them, I think! You have done a lot of reading, and only one of these books is on my list, so now I’ll have to alter that!
