I’m still here - what’s on your Workdesk Wednesday

I know folk having been wondering where I’ve been and I thank you for seeking me out.
Honestly though I’ve had nothing to post about.
Lockdown 2 life has revolved around home,
books, television and checking what’s going on down the lane.

Yesterday we had a walk in the dell kicking autumn leaves
before heading back home for lunch and trying
to keep out of the biscuit barrel.

My friend Susan has utilised her stay home time well
by making me a beautiful stitched heart which she dropped off on Sunday.
On Monday we celebrated my fabulous mum’s
88th birthday with fish and chips from the chippy, a big bunch of flowers, a balloon and a bag of presents and then the postie brought her a pile of cards.

Mum will have an even bigger smile after today’s news.
It now means my sister and brother can spend Christmas Day with her, and while we won’t all be together like we normally are at least now we can plan whose going where and whose staying put.

Stay safe folk
Lynn

  4. Saw your mums birthday on FB, she looks so good! I know what you mean about having nothing to report, life has become rather different to usual with this lockdown. Still, it is more or less the same for me as I was stuck with this bad back anyhow.
Are you still doing the display outside your home or has it stopped with the weather changing?
    Hugs, Neet 11 xx

  9. What an amazing lady your Mum is, Lynn! I'm glad you were able to celebrate her birthday one way or another.
Your friend Susan's stitched heart is absolutely gorgeous. How lucky you are!
Not sure what will happen at Christmas here, but I'm secretly hoping they won't be relaxing any rules only for things to go pear-shaped again. But then again, I am a bit of a Scrooge :-) Keep safe and well, my friends xxx

  12. Hi Lynn, sadly the numbers of people who've died has gone up again and I'm not sure that the government know what to do for the best and we will just have to use our common sense where Christmas is concerned and can only hope that people don't go mad because they are being allowed more freedom. Belated Birthday wishes to your mum. Wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x17x

It'll be jut another day for us, no Xmas curry with the Dead Relative's Society being with you in tier 3 so probably a long walk and a bowl of noodles!

  18. A very happy birthday to your gorgeous smiley Mum, Lynne, and I'm so glad you can all get together for Christmas. Lovely photos, and I love an autumn walk through the woods, scuffing up the leaves. The little fabric heart is adorable - what a lovely gift.

  20. Good to see you, I see you on FB so am able to reassure myself! Good news indeed about Christmas, ours too will be different and rather muted, but at least two elderly family members who live alone won’t have to be alone, a great relief I can tell you. Although it does mean that my plan to lie on the sofa and eat baked beans has had to change somewhat......
Huge big happy birthdays for your dear Mum, she’s looking as if she’s enjoying life and that’s all there is to do. Your Lane shots are nice aren’t they, what a nice view you have when you feel like just watching the world go by. I live in a cul de sac and of 13 Ticky tacky boxes I’m the only one that stays at home in the day, so apart from taking everyone’s parcels in, I don’t see much action!

  21. Lovely photos Lynn, I love the beautiful heart your friend made you. It's good news about Christmas for so many people, and great that people don't need to be alone. The Hubs and I have decided to stay on our own this year for the first time and in a strange way I'm looking forward to it - there will be a lot less stress for sure! That's a lovely photo of your mum, she really looks a lot younger than her 88 years - I see where you get your youthful looks from.
Hope you have a good week,
    Diana xx #21

Lovely handmade heart gift from your friend, these are the kind of things that are keeping our spirits up. A good day for sofa surfing with a cosy fleece, a good book and a nice cup of our favourite brew. Keep Calm and Stay Happy. Brummie Sue Xx.
