Cruise & Crochet
What a treat
That's what I got upto last night with friends
Sailing out on the good ship Prince Henry from Stretford Marina we travelled for two and half hours through industrial Manchester to Castlefield Basin, now a conservation area, then back to Stretford
Cake had to be eaten along the way, provided by these lovely ladies,
Jo Johnson and Sarah of French Knots Craft Studio in Sale, Cheshire who put on the event.
The demon crocheters made these pretty rose brooches
This blue thing was my attempt. I have now given up for ever trying to crochet.
My brain is just not wired for it
It was a fantastic evening laughing and crocheting with some lovely ladies
Now to the serious business of deskhopping over at Julia's place
Thanks for calling by
Lynn x
ps. I'll show you next week the results of my stitching project last week
I am glad someone else struggles as much as me with crochet - just can't get it! the photos from the trip look idyllic however, what a treat! Helen #1

Oh dear! Think I will leave the commenting as just that with regards to your crochet skills.
ReplyDeleteLove this post - you have captured the art of blogging that I like - such interesting photos a hint of words (not like me who blabbers on and on). I so enjoy reading what you are up to and today has some lovely photos as I journeyed with you on your canal trip.
Hugs, Neet 8 xx
It was lovely to meet you last night, Lynn. I love your photos, they capture the evening really well. Hope to see you again x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea - a terrific night out!
ReplyDeleteYour crochet looks like mine, everyone says it's easy but I've had to admit defeat, I definitely didn't inherit my mum's talent!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a smashing trip and the scenery is gorgeous! xxx
I'm whizzing round my fav desks before I hit the sewing room this morning so of course you're included in those.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a fun day together. Really love the crocheted flowers.
Hugs,

Although I cannot crochet either, I still had a good chuckle at your effort ;-) What a great cruise though, I always wanted to travel on a narrowboat! xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, you did well with the crochet, I cant do it! I'm useless with needles and thread or wool or anything really! Your photos are brilliant, thanks for sharing! Lyns xx #20
ReplyDeleteI must admit, I don't do crocheting either. What a great event to have a go at it though. Fabulous moving scenery and cake! Happy WOYWW Sarah #23

Hi Lynne, sounds like you had a wonderful evening. I too am no good at crochet, or knitting! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #3 XxX
ReplyDeleteMy brain isn't wired for crochet either, so it looks like I'm part of the gang here! x
ReplyDeleteWonderful cruise photos. Don't give up the crochet ... I haven't done it for years, but used to enjoy very much. Thanks for sharing - Hazel, #25 x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful evening with great people and crocheting. That's one thing I have never learned. My mother and one sister are masters. LOL I surely is a gift. Dorlene #32
ReplyDeleteSuch a relaxing evening, you have really captured it in your lovely photos. Thanks for coming. Jo x
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! A cruise with crochet! I've always like to crochet. I used to war my own creations as a teenager. I enjoyed your cruise photos. A nice escape from my non-cruising reality.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!

Great space and thanks for sharing xx Jan (36)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the canals used to walk my dog down by the Portland basin when I lived in the UK. I learnt to crochet my teaching myself from Attic 24 website. ANickoana #4
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a blast! Lovely views along the way. I'm sure if you kept up at it you would be able to crochet! Thanks, for sharing, Lindart #33 (PS-the link takes you a page that says post does not exist - just click on "home", and it will go to the post)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Even if you didn't get a rose out of it, at least you had fun - and time spent trying something it always time well spent.
ReplyDeleteThat looks lovely, what a great ideas. I'm having to take my time getting round this week due to a bad head cold but I'll get there. Happy belated woyww, Angela x19x
ReplyDeleteJust a late flying visit - I can crochet fairly simple things but a pattern defeats me completely!! Lovely photos of your trip! x jo
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely time you must have had! Sarah has promised to teach me to crochet but having tried so many times over the years I am afraid that I might upset her!! Not joining in - bogged down with paper work!! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, love to be on the waterway and a natter and some crochet (or not) - can you sign up for a weekly cruise! And fab photos too - the reflection is wonderful. Am slightly smug that you think there's some crafty thing that you cant get your head around...it's really mean of me, but I'm amused and pleased that you aren't genius at every thing!!
