Weir folk aren’t weird

There’s some funny goings on in the local village of Weir, Bacup, Lancashire up the road from us.  Decapitated bodies that all wear wellies and jeans.

Owls that don’t know they are only supposed to come
out at night.

Trees that like to do a bit of crocheting, or as my old friend Ronnie would say “crowshiting”.  Naughty Ronnie !

I’d love to have a pom-pom border in my garden.

They’ve got the biggest snowballs I’ve ever seen

There’s lots of wildlife in Weir

As well as a few farm animals

One things for sure its a village full of community spirit and kind people.
The best of them is my friend Anna who has opened her own Cafe Bar there and offers everyone the warmest of welcomes

Well done Anna, we are so proud of you my lovely

What’s on your desk this week

Hello deskhoppers
Im just about to glide down this elegant staircase in my vintage finery
and join my fellow diners for our evening meal.

I spent the day NOT slogging away over a craft desk but  lounging in the gardens of
Clare House Hotel in Grange over Sands, Cumbria.
The views beyond the gardens made me think I was in the Italian Lakes,
and the hotel itself as if  I was in an  Agatha Christie novel,  it’s so elegant.

CLARE HOUSE HOTEL LINK

It’s so beautiful I could have stayed forever.

Although we grudgingly said goodbye to the wonderful people of Clare House,
we have booked in again for later in the year.

So I guess that’s another week I’ll have an empty desk hee hee

What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday

Turns out I’m not good at following instructions. Never have been and never will be.  I’ve known it for years, so why on Earth I bought a kit I’ve no idea.

It stressed me out so much I had to go and have a lie down

I ended up doing my own thing with it in the end anyway and one thing for sure I won’t be buying another.

Now this is more like it.  In a few weeks I’ll be picking this little beauty up and I’ve got great plans for it so watch this space dear reader

When blog friends meet up

On Monday we visited Chester with these fabulous people and I think the bus driver, on the fantastic Park & Ride scheme, might have thought it was the League of Nations with all the different accents.

Blog friends Ann and Jos had travelled all the way from Belgium for our meet up so they had Flemish accent. They are actually on their annual sojourn to Wales.
Ann's blog - Polyester Princess

Then there were friends Vix and Jon with their Birmingham accents and last but not least me and Mr Dapper chap with our broad Lancashire ones.

Ann was the only one out of the six of us to bag a bargain.
This crimplene number is a perfect fit and was just £10 in one of the two vintage shops we found.

Philip kept eyeing Jos’s green jacket up.
Good job he didn’t take it off, I don’t think he would have got it back.

There was a lot of exchanging of lovely presents which I am working my way
round to photographing. Well all except the Belgium Beer and chocolate, that didnt hang around long.
Lunch was in Weatherspoons at a very expensive (not) £40 for the six of us.
Oh so that means we did all get a bargain, not just Ann.

Fabulous day with fabulous friends
