What’s on your Workdesk

Good morning desk hoppers.
A friend has recently started treatment for bowel cancer so I made her this little gift.

This is another one I made for a friend’s birthday.  The brooch belonged to her mother and the ceramic flowers are a pair of earrings that were her mother in laws, she gave them to me to use on something. I think I’ve made good use of them don’t you.

Time for a look at what other deskhoppers have been upto this week

No Primarni in this house

Two piece skirt suit from Kinky Melon Retro Boutiqe

It’s nice to have a new outfit or two isn’t it ladies.
The good thing about vintage shopping is that when you
fancy a change you can sell them on again.  You wouldn’t be doing that with your Primarni clobber.

I can’t resist a pair of jellie shoes and a nice
welsh wool purse.

Don’t stand near me with a naked flame while I’m wearing this little 50’s number or I’ll combust, there’s  that much nylon in it. Another one I picked up in Hebden Bridge.

I found this beauty in a new vintage shop in my favourite market town of Todmorden, West Yorkshire.

The belt is from a charity shop and this gorgeous little jumper was from the vintage shop as well.

Right, now I’ve got a few new frocks I need to make room for them so I’m off into my Narnia wardrobe for a sort out.  I could be some time.

I’ve been to Narnia

You might think this is just a very nice wardrobe
but don’t be fooled

It’s actually the entrance to the changing room in
fabulous vintage shop I found in Hebden Bridge.

Isn’t it fantastic

And how do you like the 40’s dress I bought.
I liked it so much I kept it on and made my
friend Jacqui laugh muttering how much I
love my new frock.

What’s on your Workdesk

Thought I better show my face as I’ve not been around the midweek desk hop for a while over at Julia’s place

A friend wanted to make something for her niece’s
birthday so we had a little craft workshop and made a little money pouch.

OOPS !!

Well that was until I misspelt PENNIES and
had to cover it up then ended up turning it into
 a travelling sewing kit.

Vintage sunshine

It’s been a while since we met up with all our vintage
friends at Stockport Vintage Village

The sun shone, the Lambretta scooter club
arrived with some fabulous looking Mods
and the music took me back to when I was
a teenager

Friend and vintage trader Vix brought the sunshine
out in her gorgeous vintage Frank Usher frock
VINTAGE VIXON BLOG LINK

and I bought this 1950’s two piece skirt and top
from her.  Look at this fab basket Vix gave me.
I had one of these in the 70’s

We picked up lots of other bits and bobs
including a suit for Philip but I will have to
post about them another time, I’ve got a
little craft workshop to prepare for

See you soon
