WOYWW - KITCHEN TALES

Eh up ! I’ve actually made something useful.
Two sets of table mats and napkins.

All made with scrap pieces from my fabric stash.

The test will be if they survive the washer

The kitchen has had a bit of a revamp.

We found some scaffold boards in the garage, bought some
brackets and as if by magic we have new kitchen shelves.

We’ve painted the pine pantry cream.
It was originally a wardrobe. Last year we added
panels of wallpaper.

When I say “we” I of course mean the royal we.
It’s the wandering welder who is doing the painting
not me.

It’s all coming together nicely. Even better we’ve spent very
little on doing it.

I’ve added a utensil rail and a few twinkles above the horrid
extractor fan whose only use is as a light and for banging your
head on.

So no workdesk Julia but we have been busy.

Take care
Hope you feel better soon Annie

  3. It all looks very cosy in your home and so very you. It reminds me of those lovely books one is always tempted to buy that shows all the lovely ideas of how to revamp the various areas in your home. In fact I am sure you could do an article for a magazine showing just what you have shown us today.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  4. Your kitchen is looking great. I wondered if you had any advice on stitching old lace edged material together. I am thinking a double page for a journal and not sure where to start. Would it be called a fabric collage? Angela #10

  6. Lovely cosy and cottagey (not sure if there is such a word!) looking in your kitchen/dining room. We, again the royal we, are supposed to be decorating our living room before Christmas and revamping a very ugly fireplace! - nothing happening yet so we shall see x

    1. Thanks Ann. The pantry is not as cream as we would like it so it may get another coat of paint.
I love the scaffold board shelves. It’s my favourite bit xxx

  11. Very pretty table settings, Lynn, and I absolutely love your kitchen! I've got a cooker hood extractor fan very similar to yours and love it - you must be taller than me becaue I've never banged my head on mine lol! Lovely idea to put pretty lights on it.

  14. It looks absolutely gorgeous, proper homely with bags of interest and personality.
Far better to use what we'd had for years and revamp it rather than going out and buying new, I want my home to reflect our personalities and not current fashion! xxx

    1. I’ve recycled the top half of the Welsh dresser now. After a bit of hacking it at with a saw it is now a shelving unit in my craftroom xx

  15. i love the revamp, so homely . I love how creative you have been. I hate these people who show off their fancy pants kitchens, but they are so bland and boring and lack well creativity. Well done!!

    1. It’s been a mishmash kitchen from the start. The units came from a skip.
