Here’s the proof, look sometimes I do sit at my studio desk.
Getting to work on the latest prompt for the textile group I’m in
The task is to create ten different designs using one fabric
and backing pieces.
I’ve reached nine. I’m sure I can squeeze another one in.
I’ve reached nine. I’m sure I can squeeze another one in.
Look I’ve made something useful with one of my samples.
This is the original fabric piece. The wandering welder brought it
home from a job he was on at a bleachers and dyers.
This week I’ve invested in a stack of self coloured fabrics
as it’s not something I have in my stash of stuff and I’m
constantly caught out when it’s called for in a project.
On Friday I’m off over the border to Creative With Nature in Todmorden,
where I’ll be spending the day making an upcycled fabric coiled
pot with Emma Wilkinson at

Stunning textiles and that class pot looks amazing. Kinda reminds me of the old fashioned rag rugs my grandmother used to make for old clothes - in construction rather than colour or design! Have fun and we will all look forward to seeing the results in a future WOYWW - well, at least *I* will :D
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW, early today :)

The textile pieces are gorgeous especially the decorated doily, love the colours you’ve used! Plain fabric has its place too, I’ve always got some for linings etc etc. Just had another fabric delivery this morning as well!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous textiles as always, Lynn. I am sure the coiled pot would make a lovely kitty bed! The trouble is, ours will never use kitty beds and prefer to lie on us!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,

ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with the fabric, they all look so good. I also never have plain fabrics when I need them, well done on getting a supply sorted. Happy WOYWW! Elle #21, EOTC
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed with what you've done with that fabric, Lynn. Its quite a challenge to think of ten projects. The decorated bag is lovely, and unique too. Like you, I never have just the right plain dyed fabric when it's needed. Enjoy the class you're going to - I look forward to seeing what you make there. Elizabeth x #24
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, I seem to have got behind this week as there have been lots of distractions but always like to try and visit everyone if I can. Looks like you've been very busy to get all that done.Wishing you a very happy belated woyww, Angela x16x
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your fabric designs and the one you used to decorate that bag is especially delightful. There really seems to be no end to your creativity!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure those different coloured fabrics will soon make it into one of your projects. Can't wait to see how you'll get along with the coiled fabric pot! xxx
I bet by now you’ve come up with number 10, I shall look forward to that. Look at you being at home long enough to sit at your desk! Love the adorned bag, that fabric looks so different in all of your different usages. Self coloured fabrics remind me of my Mum, she used to love them for tablecloth and napkin making.
ReplyDeleteA very belated happy WOYWW. I am sure you have done number 10 by now. I love those flowers. Did you make them or were they from a piece of fabric? Fabulous bag too. Angela #8
ReplyDeleteA feast for the eyes! Brilliant idea how to use those vintage lilies we pick up and hoard!
