WOYWW …….. well here we are again

Well would you look at that mess.
This was our garden on Tuesday morning after a right
Hoolie blew in overnight.

I thought well if that’s what May has in store for us I’ll be
in isolation a bit longer.

Monday afternoon I took to my desk while Philip cleaned the
bathrooms as all his outside jobs were cancelled due to bad weather.
I bribed him with the promise of cake and a cuppa later.

Over the weekend I’d been playing about putting scraps of fabric
together on my cork wall.  Then I made a crazy paving ribbon with
more bits of the same materials.

Back to Monday afternoon….. keeping on with the lace theme
for the No Rules Textile Society project, I’ve stitched a little
patchwork piece and added cut up pieces of an antique trim
and machined stitched them down in a grid pattern.

Other members have dyed lace, some have made bowls with
threads and dissolvable fabric.  The effects are lovely.

What I like about the group is you can do whatever takes your fancy,
there’s no rules.  I enjoy the zoom meetings.  There’s lots of giggling,
chat and exchanges of ideas.

I do miss being in the company of folk, don’t you.
We are getting a bit nearer to resolving that now thankfully.

Enjoy your week deskhoppers

Goodness me, haven't we had a right old battering over the last three days? It was gloriously sunny this morning but I needed my big coat and gloves when we took a trip out to the garden centre. I was going to do some gardening this afternoon but it's raining! xxx

  11. Hi Lynn. You certainly had a load of fun playing with your cork board! Well done. You enjoyed yourself, too, making those little pieces - brilliant. It will be nice to be meeting up with more folks again - but my sense is that there is an incredible amount of nervousness out there.
    Take care. God bless.

  12. Oh no, look at all that havoc wreaked on your garden! No wonder you both retreated indoors. I had a good chuckle at you bribing Philip to clean the bathrooms :-) I'm loving your latest project and, I'm repeating myself here, how stunning is that dress you are wearing! xxx

  16. Wow Lynn all your projects are just stunning... I hardly know where to begin! I love your cork wall with its display, and the beautiful lace bowls too. It's all fabulous. Sorry about the damage in the garden and hope it's all sorted soon! We had a very stormy day on Monday with a bit of damage to one fence panel which my hubby fixed - always essential to keep an eye on the perimeter in order to keep the kitties safe in the garden.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  18. Oh Lynne, my cork boards never looked like moody and inspiration and skill all just thee on the wall to look at, your sense for putting stuff together is just a visual feast for me. Hope when you walk in and look at it you get the same feeling! Weather...what is going on? And then the world stayed skewiff...your man is cleaning bathrooms. Blimey. Mine would of course, if asked, otherwise it would just not occur to him! Full marks to the WW.
