Look at the concentration on that face. Now I’m either thinking I better get on with experimenting with lace before Friday’s zoom meeting with the No Rules Textile Society, or it could be I’m thinking about how I’m going to spend my first pension payment when it comes in September. I’ve just had a letter with the date it’s due and the monthly amount.
I always remember Mum saying I could keep my first pay packet, that was 50 years ago, it feels like yesterday. So I might have a blow out with my first pension packet.
Anyway back to the desk.
I came across a pile of old photographs so I’ve made a little fabric album and added a picture of my nana Alice and her three sisters, Dolly, Hilda and Annie.
I might add some hand stitching to it later.
Next up I started faffing about with this old postcard album and pinned in pieces of lace for my lace project.
Not sure about it yet so I’ll leave it to one side for now.
We’ve spent a lot of time in the garden this last week, so my heads not really in crafting mode properly. It could be though, because I received a fabulous bag of goodies from a blog friend and her lovely daughter. I’ve never come across magnetic bookmarkers before. They are amazing. Thank you Allie-Jane.

Your little fabric album is just stunning! ALL of your no-rules textile projects have been very inspiring and so much fun to see week after week. I think you deserve to blow that first pension packet on something fun, just for you. Make sure you share with us what it was :D
ReplyDeleteHave a marvelous day!

I completely agree about spending your first pension payment on yourself, great idea! Are you a jewellery person? IT would be fun to get something nice to remind you of the event :-D. I love seeing what you get up to with all your fabric and lace, you’re very creative!!

Unfortunately, I have to live off my pension payments. It's not going well. Absolutely adore your fabric album.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Your fabric album with it lace and trimmings. I had to hand over my first wages...which wasn't very much! When I got a real job with real wages, my first buy was a set of poster paints in a plastic holder, with I still have to day. The paints are a little dried up, but with a bit of water, soon come back to life! Have a great week!Stay Safe, keep crafting, Happy WOYWW!? ((Lyn))#8
ReplyDeleteYour lace and photo creations are just adorable, I love your creativity.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week,

ReplyDeleteCold 30 at night 50/60 daytime, we were wearing shorts a month ago. No sun today again, we need rain badly, corn crops in the field need moisture and warmth. Have a great week.#24
Those photographs are absolutely gorgeous and deserve somewhere lovely to be kept. Well done you. What a lovely home they now have.
ReplyDeletea bit cold for the caravan at the moment, here's hoping May is warmer and you get to spend some time there - in the meantime you have your lovely garden to sit in.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

What an exciting little parcel! We've got some magnetic bookmarkers, they're brilliant! xxx
great photos you found. I always love your lacy piles of goodies you share! hope the zoom meeting goes well on Friday. Helen #4
ReplyDeleteOf course I love your concentrating face, you’re a beauty. But I also love your stitch brooch, isn’t it just lovely. Wonderful way to keep those photos, aren’t they fab. It always surprises me when you say you’re leaving off something for a while because you aren’t sure where it’s going, I always assumed the clever likes of you were never without rudder.
ReplyDeleteHow delightful is that lacy album, and such beautiful pictures of your nana and her sisters. I could pore over old photographs for hours! How exciting to receive a bag of goodies from a blog friend. I used to have one of these magnetic book markers! xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric album. Love the pin brooch too. Happy WOYWW Angela #16

ReplyDeletewill hi your welcome, I showed willow the pictures and she just smiled, so that’s nice as the olymplians that we’re visiting her are not now, so she was sad about that. So this made her day.
ReplyDeleteI stick my tongue out to the side when I am concentrating everyone thinks it’s cute. You should get a better pension you pay In enough!

What a beautiful fabric album Lynn and so different. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on joining the OAP's club, Lynn! I got mine over a year ago and got a large lump sum because I claimed it late, not realising they no longer send you a letter and I thought I had to wait a couple more years. I hope you find something nice to spend the first payment on, to remember the momentous event! Your lace projects are gorgeous and I love the idea of making a cloth album with the delightful old family photos. I've scanned all mine and have incorporated some of them into projects - you may remember the albums I made about my mum and dad.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
