Jabs, Lace and a fishpond - woyww619

Well that’s me jabbed up folks.
There was hardly a murmur in the room while people sat waiting.
I very nearly burst into song to liven up
the proceedings.

Instead when it got to my turn I talked the socks off the lovely
marshals and the jabbing lady and thanked them kindly.

Once back home I had to kick himself into action to get on
with the re-siting of the pond.

Just get on with it man. Measure twice cut once. Think on.

It’s getting there, but still lots to do.

In the meantime I had a new book to start

and research to do for the new prompt for the
No Rules Textile Society that I am a member of.
Doesn’t that sound posh.

I’ve been going through my gazzillion books for inspiration.
The prompt is Lace.

Well thats me done.
Hope I haven’t overloaded you with pics Mrs D.

  1. Wow, it certainly looks busy where you went for your jab. Congrats on having it anyway - all jabbed up and shopping ready now!
Your garden looks lovely and now you have a little pond, or has he not finished it yet? Love the crazy paving.
Good luck with the "Lace" project - lots of inspiration there and those Eastern tiles and stamping blocks look great. Clever girl.

  2. I’d have wanted to make noise in that hall too, lol! It’s the devilment in me that I can’t shake off even now..... Great pics of the pond, it’s going to look fab and the textile research must be fascinating. Oh and I don’t mind you mixing me up with Twiglet, she’s awesome!!

  4. I think if you had started singing people might have thought it was a flash mob and expected dancing too! Glad I'm not the only one getting carried away with chatting to real people again. I love all the interesting bits in your garden! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

  5. I think the vaccination hall would be lovely if everyone had to do a little "turn" as a thank you to all our lovely vaccinators and volunteers. I would certainly be up for doing a little happy dance as I come back down the aisle!! Like Jan - I don't mind being muddled up with that awesome lady either - she is a gem. xx Jo

  6. Congratulations on being all jabbed up! The term "jabbing lady" made me chuckle, and I can hear you talking your socks off in my mind's eye ... or perhaps that should be "ear" :-) Poor Philip though, you're a very strict task master, Mrs. H. xxx

  8. Yay! You're all done! We're back on 1st June. That set up looks a bit weird though, I'd never be able to sit still and keep quiet either.
Jon's very impressed with Philip's endeavours but says he didn't recognise him without his dapper gear on.
I spy Jaipur's Palace of the Winds in that book! xxx

  9. So glad you have had your jab, but I have to confess that I am most excited to discover that there is a new Ruth Hogan book! Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#15)

  10. It's kind of strange how quite people are when you go for the vaccine, we noticed this when we went for our first one even though there were people sat together they certainly aren't like that in the park. There certainly are some beautiful and inspiring ideas there today. I'm late today as we've been sorting mum's second vaccination and hearing test so at least we've got that done. Have a very happy and creative woyww. Hugs, Angela x17x

  11. The had ELVIS on quite loudly in my room (which looks a lot like your room) so plenty of noise. My original (long) comment got trashed when the screen refreshed so I'll just say I love your textile work so much and dash away before it happens again!
Socially distanced knitting in the garden yesterday so TODAY is WOYWW for me!

  12. I do like the sound of “No Rules Textile Society”, a very prestigious name! I had a look at the book on Amazon, it looks quite good do I may order it. I still have several hundred free ones to read, but some of them get deleted after the first 5 minutes. I find I am being more selective now in downloading the free ones. I Also have 2 Barbara Erskine books to read. I have read 3 Edward Marston books in the last couple weeks, have you read any of his? I noticed the antique washer/mangle in your garden, that must be very old and collectible I would have thought. Have a great week Angela #9

  13. You have to be a member of a no rules society, because giving you rules for your creativity would be like caging a bird. Lace? Amy first thought was Sydney Lace which is what they call the lovely metalwork of balconies on the older houses in Sydney. Absolutely loved wandering up and down the streets admiring them. Blimey, memories and all today! Love the way the Welder chap has to Think On whilst doing an arduous task while you have a quiet read. Mind you, you prolly had to exert yourself to actually motivate him off that lovely sunny bench.....

  14. Oh and PS...doubly thrilled at the jab jab. I’ve had a jab experience too, it is oddly quiet, I agree!!
