Lockdown Diary 2021 - Here we go again

Here we go again.

Another lockdown here in the UK.  I’ll have to think up some winter garden gate displays for the folk walking by with their dogs and kiddywinks like we had in the summer.

Our one outing of the week is to our local outside market at Bacup on a Wednesday. We’ve been doing this every week since last March.  This week the only stalls there were Peter the butcher, Kevin the greengrocer and the lovely couple who run the Patisserie stall.  John the fishmonger isn’t back until next week.  Fish is so expensive after Christmas it’s not worth him turning out. Fortunately, knowing that, we stocked up before he finished

Inspired by my lovely friend Vix’s recent blog post of their walk round Walsall where they live I took a few snaps of Bacup while we were out.

This lovely stone building is currently being turned into apartments.  It’s the old Conservative Club.

There’s some lovely buildings and in the last couple of years there’s been an influx of new businesses and the shop fronts have been given an upgrade.

We’ve even got our own version of Banksy on the walls of the local pub.

Once back home the shopping gets washed off and put away and then it’s time for a late lunch and a quiet afternoon catching up on blog posts, reading and maybe a crossword or two.

Sadly our next door neighbour of over 30 years passed away this week so there’s been a bit of quiet reflection and due to covid restrictions we are unable to attend the funeral.

I came across this photo taken on this day in 2018.
It must have been a lot warmer that year as I’ve got my red gingham frock on.

Stay safe, stay in, so that we can welcome the summer with a smile.
Love Lynn
xx
