So in for a penny in for a pound, I got out the scissors and snipped at the fringe. I’ve got such a mass of hair it’ll be good to get it chopped properly eventually.
So back to the Pilates practice.........
Well no ........
I then came across a tin of paint I’d bought for the Welsh dresser last year. Typical me I’d given it one coat then moved onto something else meaning to go back to it later.
So now I’m up a ladder using furniture paint to cover a wall in my workroom. The welder has disappeared out of the house as he can’t cope with my slapdash ways. It makes him twitchy.
Don’t worry said I, I’ll put one coat on and then you can finish it off properly.
The next thing I knew it was time to go and meet my bestie.(this is a photo of us from 5 years ago when we were on an outing for my 60th birthday).
So with cars parked up next to each other we chatted away for a couple of hours and scoffed our sandwiches and cakes.
Some laughing, some crying, no hugging, but happy to be in each other’s company.
I’d like to tell you I came home and did my Pilates practice and finished off the painting but I didn’t.
After calling in on Mum, having a natter with her it was back home, the heating switched on and a massive cup of tea made before hunkering down in front of the telly with beans on toast for tea. It’s like winter out there now not mid June brrr !!!
Never mind there’s always tomorrow to have a go at. I’m taking mum out for a short country drive, she’s not been anywhere other than a walk round the block and in her garden for three months. She is in my bubble so I think I’ve got it right that I can have her in my car.
Stay safe and keep smiling.
Over and out

Brave girl! I have no qualms about cutting my fringe, but I'm tempted to cut the rest off (but I daren't because I don't have eyes in the back of my head - haha). xxx
ReplyDeleteMy friend Scott is going to loan me his trimmer. No scissors for me. Sounds like you and your friend had a lovely time socially distancing. Have fun with your mother tomorrow and keep ignoring those Pilates. Have a great weekend, too.
ReplyDeleteWell done you with the hair cut...I managed my fringe but am desperate to have a good cut now. How lovely to catch up with friends and I really hope you have a lovely outing with your mum...I'm certain it will do you much more good than harm so enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
You do crack me up!
ReplyDeleteHow fab does your hair look? Heated rollers are the answer!
You're lucky that The Welder runs off and leaves you to it, Jon stands over and supervises and ends up taking over 'cos he can't bear the unholy mess I get myself into. Loving that calming shade of green.
Glad you had a lovely time with your friend and hope your jaunt out with your Mum was just as much fun. My friend Liz took her Mum out in her car for the first time in three months - they're in a bubble, it's okay! They both wore facemasks and opened all the windows just to be on the safe side! xxxx
Oh dear :-) Your hair does look brilliant courtesy of those heated rollers. I can somehow relate to Philip regarding your painting job, though, even if the shade of green is gorgeous. Pleased to hear you had a socially distanced meet up with your friend and hope you'll have a brilliant time with your Mum! xxx
ReplyDeleteI have to say I've cut my fringe too but we have to be able to see Lol! Fear not it rained while we were out today. Ten minutes into our walk it poured it down for about five minutes, just enough to wet your clothes but we walked on and did about five miles then went back for coffee with careful distancing obviously! Love your mummy and her pet. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteThe clippers have been calling me, as my hairdresser is on part time hours due to restrictions over here, I feel like shaving it off, then she txt me on Wednesday and asked if the 15th of july was ok. I could have burst into tears. So just under a month I will have a new cut.
ReplyDeleteI am like you I start something then run out of steam or get bored. Weather over here is very humid. So at work I am bunched next to the air conditioning. Or I sweat like a pig. Take care and keep safe
You made me smile with your good intentions, only to be side tracked. I can so identify with that. I get side tracked so much that I have to make a list of things I want to achieve in the day, otherwise I get nothing done.
ReplyDeleteYour heated curlers did a good job. Your hair looks lovely.
Great that you have been able to meet up with your bestie and put the world to rights.
Your mum looks amazing. And her little 'lapdog' is wonderful.
Have a great weekend (or what's left of it)
Hugs,
Lisca
