Another excuse ........... WOYWW

BACK TO THE FUTURE -
PART ONE

MONDAY’S OUTFIT
We are a million days into lockdown now and I’m starting a long overdue revamp of my workroom.
It started by pulling things down off the walls and shifting books from one set of shelves to another with no definite plan as to where I’d put everything.

The cork boards on the wall were first put up in May 2014 to pin inspirational images and stitched samples to.  Prior to that I’d used blue tac, which was fine until I opened the patio door and the wind would blow things off.

You can see what it looked like back then in this link

My thinking is I’d like to create a space that would take me in a different direction creatively.

A move more towards working with natural things, wood, metal, found objects etc, like Ive done in the past and haven’t explored for a long time.

The enormity of the task got a bit much on the first day, ending up with me sat in a corner with a cuppa, thinking what the heck have I started. Not only was my workroom desk and floor full of stuff, so was the office floor.

I’ve had enough of that now so I’m going to show you my new frock instead bought online from Palavafolk.  A much more pleasurable thing to do.

No saving for best,  I dress up even if I’m staying home and doing chores.

We had an outing to the local food market on Saturday, perfect for showing off my new clobber.  The velvet coat is a recycled one from an Instagram friend.

Do you remember going round to relations as a child with your new clothes on and they’d give you a few pennies for looking so nice.

Sunday’s outfit cost me less than the postage of my new frock and was bought a couple of years ago from a charity shop in Barrow In Furness, Cumbria for £6.50.

You’ll have noticed by now that I’ve come up with yet another excuse for not having anything on my desk.  Julia is going to turf me off  WOYWW one of these Wednesday’s haha.

Stay tuned for next week’s excuse .  In the meantime check into what the active crafters/makers have been upto over at
