Match that - woyww 555

No desk this week as I’m working on a piece that is a secret that I can’t reveal just yet.

So for a change I thought I’d show you what I’ve been doing in my Narnia like wardrobe, still sticking with my theme of  DEEPER NOT WIDER.
Looking at what I already have and not looking outside of that.

The outfits  against the white wall are by a  British company called Cabbages & Roses and are mega expensive.
Even if I could afford them I could never justify spending that sort of money.

So what I’ve done is cobble together my own version  using my charity shop/vintage finds with the odd new piece thrown in (usually sale pieces).

How do you like the results ?
I’ll be back at the desk next week.

  1. Oh you clever stick, what a great way to re-invent your wardrobe! Until I was on I wondered how you could be bothered to trot out to the garden to photograph every other outfit against the wall! I quite often find myself being more creative with clothes when I’m on holiday. I tend to take combos that are well tested and then end up using the old ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ because something needs washing or is missing, it’s rather freeing!

  2. I do love your style Lynn, I wish I was as brave as I used to be with colour but as I grow older I've sadly become a basic's and essentials mix & match kinda girl. Colour only seems to appear at the end of my paint brush!
I have to say I prefer your own take on those fashion pieces than the originals, you could save us all so much money.. Happy WoyW look forward to seeing that secret work piece Hugs Tracey #10

  3. Must admit I am a bit drawn to that expensive tartan skirt. I am not adventurous with colour and would never have thought of teal and orange but it looks absolutely fantastic. Clever girl for spotting that one.
You have changed me! Really quite unheard of for me to be in a skirt yet I wear them such a lot at the moment. I even went and bought a black and white dress in the sale the other week to wear with my new coloured tights (a la Lynne). What an inspiration you are.

I’m so glad I’ve sparked up your wardrobe. You’d giggle if you saw me today I’ve got a blue gingham summer dress on, woolly tights, blue Chelsea boots and a navy cardi. It’s a right mash up Hee hee xx

  12. I love the results, Lynn. Your versions are so very similar to the expensive ones and have the added benefit of costing very little. Style on a shoestring - what's not to like. Elizabeth x #20

  13. Well done, you certainly have your own style. I have several pieces which I've had for years which I love and just get them out and mix them up with other stuff. I am only 5ft tall so when I find something that works I look after it as best I can. Wishing you a happy and creative woyww, Angela x16x

  14. You can certainly put together a lovely outfit Lynne - just as nice as the flashy stuff but better cos it costs a fraction and means the world isn't being inundated with "stuff". xx Jo
