I don’t know about it raining plums, it’s certainly been raining cats and dogs here in North West England.
I’ve nothing to show on my desk as I have been extremely busy taking all my mahoosive stash of craft materials and drawers to the local hospice day centre.
As I am no longer facilitating any more workshops I wanted to make sure everything went to a good home. The hospice were delighted with it all as they go through so much stuff. They hold sessions four days a week, run by one fabulous paid member of staff and a fantastic team of volunteers.
Now I’ve hung my teaching hat up, I’m having a lovely time attending workshops, which are always great fun with fabulous like minded people.
I’m preaching to the converted here though aren’t I haha.

Thanks for visiting me earlier, Lynn. Sadly, I only attended one workshop and it was free. I guess I'm not among the converted, but I think it's fabulous that you donated those supplies to people who will use them. Bless you for that. Happy WOYWW from # 8.
ReplyDeleteIt just makes you feel better that you know your stash will be used and appreciated, I get that totally. How lovely to be just an attendee of the workshop not the teacher, takes the pressure off for sure! I think we've escaped the worst of the rain in Wales, how ironic as everyone says Wales is wet!

Enjoy your retirement, Lynn! In the meantime, I know all your stash will be enjoyed by a lot of people. I love the pretty box of threads and labels and the door hanger. Thank you for your lovely comment, and I'm so glad my post raised two smiles this week! On the whole it was a good week, and now I've just got to contain myself and not worry about the outcome of my disability benefit application. Such good news that I don't have to wait 4 months for the new wheelchair! However, if this awful weather continues through the "summer" it might not matter overmuch!!

I totally agree that taking part in workshops is so much more fun than teaching them! Well, play vs work - that's the difference! It's so lovely that you gave away your stash to a worthy cause - but I hope you kept enough for yourself for your own projects! Years ago I gave away my scrapbooking stash to my son's school, thinking that I will only ever do digital from then on - but then I discovered mixed media and had to buy a lot of stuff again LOL! It was a good excuse to do more shopping! Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #20
ReplyDeleteReally hope you enjoy your retirement and can now enjoy your workshops without all the extra work that goes into the teaching of it.

Hi Lynn, what a lovely thing to do with all your unwanted stash! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #10 X
ReplyDeleteI still do one workshop a year at my local craft club, will do two if they get really stuck for someone but glad that I am not teaching as much as I used to and glad the demo'ing at shows stopped this year. There comes a time when you know it is now you should stop. Enjoy the ones you go to from now onwards.
ReplyDeleteLove the little sample you showed us of the silks and cottons - and to a very worthwhile place. Bless you.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
So generous of you to donate your stash Lynn, i'm sure you will get back just as much as you have given from your workshops. Such a beautiful and uplifting way of spending our days, enjoy every moment.

How kind of you to donate your stash and what a wonderful place to have so many craft workshops each week. Happy WOYWW. with love & God Bless. Caro (#19) xxx
ReplyDeleteThat is so kind of you, and to somewhere that it will be appreciated, too. enjoy being a "customer" instead of a teacher!! Helen #9
ReplyDeleteIt's been raining cats, dogs AND plums here today, Lynn! So sweet of you to donate your craft materials! xxx
ReplyDeleteJudging by the sad solitary plum still hanging on our tree it won't be raining plums here either. I'm intrigued - what will you be making with the contents of the box? They do look lovely. Workshops are fun and it's good to learn something new. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #26
ReplyDeletePS: I did enjoy your previous post. You are so lucky to have so many photos to create such an interesting post.
Sadly it's rained all day here in Lincoln too though we do need it. Still it's a good excuse to craft. Happy woyww and wishing you a lovely crafty week, Angela x13x
ReplyDeleteCats dogs and stair rods! Glad I don't have to go out in it. Hope you enjoy being an attendee now you aren't doing workshops of your own. How kind to donate as you did. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7
