That's a whopper.........

Sometimes I just get the urge to sit and knit.
I’m not good at it so it has to be something very simple that I don’t have to
give much thought to while I’m doing it.

I found this mahoosive ball of wool for £7 on the wool stall in Todmorden Market Hall.
It’s more than enough to make me a waistcoat like one
I did in green last time the urge to knit came over me.

When it’s done I’ll add some fabric pockets using scraps from my fabric stash

Thats all for now folks.

Sorry I can't join you for your meet up, I have got a letter from my Mum
to say why I wont be there though.
Maybe I'll get to see all you lovely Workdesk Wednesday ladies next time.

  1. I'm rubbish with knitting Lynn I let my Mom do the knitting side of crafting. Those fabric pockets look really effective. What a great find that ball was.

  3. For some reason the pics wouldn't load on my ipad so I couldn't see your lovely knitting. That is a brilliant price for a huge amount of wool, the fabric pockets sounds a great touch too!

  4. Shame you can't be at the crop.
Love the waistcoat idea with the patch pockets - adds a different dimension to it altogether.
Good luck with the scan - hope the results are favourable when they come.

  5. Knitting was always on my list but I just never learned. I crochet and knitting always seemed backwards to me. I love the look of a knitted piece and am so glad you enjoy it! Happy WOYWW! Glenda #19

  7. I enjoy knitting, having been taught in my youth by an aunt who was determined that I would do it properly, never taking my fingers off the needles. I do have problems with it this year due to arthritis. I am trying to finish a gilet right now, but now have the weight of the whole garment on the needles while I do the collar. I can only do a row and a half before giving my joints a break. Hope you soon get yours finished and ready to wear. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #8

  8. I find crocheting a lot easier than knitting, I always end up with twice the size it started! Your waistcoat is amazing, those pockets are just lovely and I love your knitting needle pot, too. xxx

  9. That's quite a big bal of (acrylic?) wool you have there, I love the color and the 'thingies' in it, I knitted a jumper/sweater with acrylics like that - only it's green (but it has those little splashes of other color...) Happy woyww and a hug from Holland. Marit #18

  13. That is a mahoosive ball of wool - gorgeous colour! I cannot knit - every time I tried the wool ended up in a massive tangle so i gave up. I just dont have the time or patience and really admire those who can. Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW and have a lovely week. With love & God Bless. Caro xxx (#26)

  14. I cannot knit at all. I learned to knit when I was in primary school, but I was hopeless at it. So, even if you're not the best knitter in the world, I applaud you at being able to make something as lovely as that waistcoat! Love those fabric pockets! xxx
