What's on my workdesk ......

Hello fellow deskhoppers

This week I took it into my head that I wanted to knit a triangle shawl
so I took myself off to the local wool shop and this is how far I've got.
As you can see I am not the fastest knitter on the planet.

Then on Monday a friend asked me round for a
bit of lunch and an afternoon of crafting

So using scraps of material, some hand and machine
stitching I made this little hanging

And now its back to the knitting.
Wish me luck

  6. It doesn't matter how fast/slow your knitting is, as long as you enjoy the process! It's a lovely colour green btw. Your hanging is fab, I do admire the way you can just put different elements together and end up with a beautiful result. I don't have that skill!

  7. Good Luck with the knitting - you seem to do it at my speed.
Love the little wall hanging you have made, I think you should make a cushion in a similar way.

  11. That wall hanging is absolutely gorgeous. Good luck with the knitting. We had knitting at primary school, and I failed miserably. At least you can knit, even if it is slowly ... xxx

  12. Beautiful stitching! Love the knitting. I'm just starting out and really slow but it is fun to do when there isn't much light in the evening and I can't stitch.

  15. Hello Lynn, you knit quicker than I do ... I wouldn't have done that much in just a few days. The yarn you are knitting with is lovely - I like the colour and the slubby texture. The wallhanging is beautiful - a lovely combination of fabric, stitching and texture too - oh, and featuring one of your doodly birds too. The brooch you are wearing brought back memories of my young days when my mother, a very skilled needlewoman, used to buy a magazine called Pins and Needles regularly. It was a great magazine. It often had embroidery transfers included - made of tissue thin paper with blue transferable ink that had to be ironed on to fabric. The cardi is lovely too - another of your vintage finds I presume. Hope you have a good week. Elizabeth x #35

  16. Hello Lynne,

I'd say you are faster knitter than me! Unfortunately I haven't touched a project since October. That's way too long for me. A shawl sounds like the perfect project for this time of year.

The wall hanging is beautiful. I like the ruffles on the bottom and can spy a cute little bird there too!

    Happy WOYWW
