What's on my workdesk this week .....

First up happy 7th anniversary to all the WOYWW desk hoppers
And well done Julia for creating such a lovely community of bloggers

This week i've been stitching using up stuff from my fabric stash
and some sequins that friend Tania Freckleface sent me
Using strips of fabric I made some ribbon to tie around the parcel of
the Smelly Chops n Socks Lavender bag I made
These are a few of the cards I made for the Creative Challenge
ICAD - Index Card A Day back in 2014
I've been looking at them as the 2016 challenge is due to start and I might join in.
Not sure yet.
Now did you guess what this thingymebob is from last week. Some of you did.
Its an ancient board game called Mancala of which there are many variations.
Better for keeping your bits n bobs in I think.
There's a link here if you want to read more about it

  1. The beady eyed bird and the lavender bags are fabulous and your cards are so pretty, Lynn.
I remember seeing a giant sized version of that game in the departure lounge at Denpasar airport in Bali! xxx

Loving the bright colours you've been using but think we need to see a pic of you in your grey/mustard combo next week!! I've never inspired an outfit before, that's a first :-)

  9. I love the Smelly Chops n Socks Lavender bag! I never guessed that thingy was a game, but it's indeed very handy for putting in bits and bobs. We have a wooden box with similar indentations, in which we put old coins and spare coins left over from holidays abroad. xxx

But you might know the one day when I planned to sit and do this people keep coming, post men x 3, friends x 2, workman x 1 and my hubby in and out, dogs decided they needed to go out more than usual but I will get there Lol! 14. I love your Icad cards - I can't believe it's come round again. I join in occasionally but have never managed a card a day - more like one every 4 days on average, but I don't think it matters! I still wish the game holder was for false eyeballs - I saw a set in an antique market a while ago but they were out of my price range and I thought them a little too quirky even for me!!

  16. That's such a lovely little bird, thanks for sharing. A card a day is very good going, I'd definitely get in a tangle after a week or so! Thanks for stopping by my desk earlier - lovely to hear that you know Tina! I really enjoyed my day down there, not techniques I'd normally use in my work but certainly gave me inspiration to stretch my ideas. Happy 7th WOYWW anniversary, Max #35

  22. It feels like it's been forever since I visited you, even though I see you at Friday Smiles. I would have been by sooner, but not long after I was finally able to link up, my electricity went out TWICE due to hail and thunderstorms that knocked the power out.

I am in awe of those ICADs. Mine were certainly not as elaborate as yours. You make them look like mini works of art, and mine look like I spent no time at all on them. Happy 7th Anniversary from # 5.
