What's on my workdesk this week .....

First up happy 7th anniversary to all the WOYWW desk hoppers
And well done Julia for creating such a lovely community of bloggers

This week i've been stitching using up stuff from my fabric stash
and some sequins that friend Tania Freckleface sent me
Using strips of fabric I made some ribbon to tie around the parcel of
the Smelly Chops n Socks Lavender bag I made
These are a few of the cards I made for the Creative Challenge
ICAD - Index Card A Day back in 2014
I've been looking at them as the 2016 challenge is due to start and I might join in.
Not sure yet.
Now did you guess what this thingymebob is from last week. Some of you did.
Its an ancient board game called Mancala of which there are many variations.
Better for keeping your bits n bobs in I think.
There's a link here if you want to read more about it

  1. The beady eyed bird and the lavender bags are fabulous and your cards are so pretty, Lynn.
I remember seeing a giant sized version of that game in the departure lounge at Denpasar airport in Bali! xxx

  2. Happy 7th WOYWW! Thanks for being such a great supporter and commenter on my blog, I really do appreciate it and have a bit of a girl crush on your sewing!! Loving the bright colours you've been using but think we need to see a pic of you in your grey/mustard combo next week!! I've never inspired an outfit before, that's a first :-)
    Hugs, LLJ xxxx

  3. Love your makes. Happy 7th WOYWW Anniversary Anne x #25

  8. Loving the makes. Super! Very happy WOYWW 7! Take care Zo xx 41

  9. I love the Smelly Chops n Socks Lavender bag! I never guessed that thingy was a game, but it's indeed very handy for putting in bits and bobs. We have a wooden box with similar indentations, in which we put old coins and spare coins left over from holidays abroad. xxx

  10. Happy 7th WOYWW!! Always love to see what's in the makes on your workdesk!! Makes me smile I just.♥
    Wishing you a lovely Wednesday!
    Michelle ♥

  11. Your index cards look lovely! There's some cute, childish innocence in them mixed with whimsy! Happy anniversary! zsuzsa #44

  12. Oh my goodness. I love those mixed media cards. It just makes me want to drop everything, gather my bits and bobs and go to town with some paper and art supplies! Happy Wednesday! Sandy Leigh #58

  13. It's all gorgeous today Lynn. My plan for today is to visit everyone even if it takes till midnight! But you might know the one day when I planned to sit and do this people keep coming, post men x 3, friends x 2, workman x 1 and my hubby in and out, dogs decided they needed to go out more than usual but I will get there Lol! Have a great woyww 7th Anniversary, Angela x30

  14. I love your Icad cards - I can't believe it's come round again. I join in occasionally but have never managed a card a day - more like one every 4 days on average, but I don't think it matters! I still wish the game holder was for false eyeballs - I saw a set in an antique market a while ago but they were out of my price range and I thought them a little too quirky even for me!!

  15. Your Bird is adorable and what lovely index cards They are so kewl and to be able to flip though them must be fun to do HAPPY WOYWW #7 hugs Nikki 1

  16. That's such a lovely little bird, thanks for sharing. A card a day is very good going, I'd definitely get in a tangle after a week or so! Thanks for stopping by my desk earlier - lovely to hear that you know Tina! I really enjoyed my day down there, not techniques I'd normally use in my work but certainly gave me inspiration to stretch my ideas. Happy 7th WOYWW anniversary, Max #35

  17. Lovely little should join in they are so cute. Elaine no. 33

  19. Always love purple and green, super work. Happy WOYWW 7th anniversary BJ#20

  20. Lynn, your creativity and output never ceases to amaze me. If I got a tenth of what you do done, I'd be happy! I love how you used up the sequins and your little birdie bag is just gorgeous. You are clever with a capital C! Xxx

  21. All your things a lovely. Such a cute bird!
    Happy anniversary!!
    Have a great day.

  22. It feels like it's been forever since I visited you, even though I see you at Friday Smiles. I would have been by sooner, but not long after I was finally able to link up, my electricity went out TWICE due to hail and thunderstorms that knocked the power out.

I am in awe of those ICADs. Mine were certainly not as elaborate as yours. You make them look like mini works of art, and mine look like I spent no time at all on them. Happy 7th Anniversary from # 5.

  23. Happy anniversary! Such cute work! And the Mancala board is perfect for sorting!
    Have a great weekend.

  24. Love your little bird - didn't you make and sell something to do with them a long time ago?
Great index cards you made - now I have never made one of those so know very little about them. You enjoy!
Here's to another year of WOYWW friendships
    Hugs, Neet 28 xx

  25. Hello Lynn, I'm sorry I haven’t managed to comment earlier, once again life got in the way! However, I have promised myself to get round all the desks this week to celebrate our 7 years of WOYWW friendship - so here I am. I love all the pretty sewing projects you've been working on this week. Smelly Chops n Socks is fabulous. I would never have guessed what that thingymajig was! Have a great weekend, Elizabeth x #66

  26. So much eye candy! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. Happy WOYWW.
