What's on my workdesk today ........

This is a card I've made for a school friend who is 60 this week.
I've used one of my own photographs and machine stitched onto it.
How did we get to this age so quickly.
No big party for me where you can't hear each other speak because of the booming music.  No, mine will be far more exciting and go on for months with lots of events like picnics, afternoon teas, trips out, visiting friends, family holidays.
I've got a book full of plans hee hee.
But for now I'm off to the post box.
Don't forget to have a look around the crafters desks over at Julia's blog

  4. Love the idea of a book for the big year of plans, and the embroidery is lovely....far more colourful than the bird on my blog! How did you get to this year so fast? I dunno. I blame the kids.

  5. What a brilliant idea - a whole year of events to celebrate your 60th. Maybe a visit to Todmorden market might get in on the act.
Lovely idea to use a photo for the background of that special card and I just love your birthday book.

  6. A lovely card for your friend, Lynn. The answer to your question? No idea at all - I'm convinced in my head that I'm still around 21 - just my knees that aren't so convinced!!
When it arrives have a wonderful, long lasting, multi-celebratory birthday! We did similar for our 40th wedding anniversary - decided to see how many of our Christmas card list we could actually meet in the year. Managed over half, so not too bad. Didn't manage any of our foreign friends, though. Boo hoo!
    Take care. God bless.

  11. What a fantastic idea, gosh most of the time everyone is to busy with Christmas and tend to overlook my birthday regardless of the significance of it. Hey it is the week before Christmas exactly. So when is your birthday? we don't get old, we age just like wine and only get better. Love your cards what a clever idea.

    Happy WOYWW

  17. I love the card Lynn - did you change the thread colours or is it some sort of rainbow coloured cotton - if it is I've only ever seen that in wool - it looks beautiful! Your birthday book is a great idea as well as being gorgeous - and how lovely to see one of your little birdies again!

  20. Oh brilliant! The card is fun, but your little "ideas book" is gorgeous. Did you embroider the little birdie yourself? Being a bookbinder, I have "a thing" for books of all kinds... show me a cute book and I'm your friend for ever! ;-)
Thanks for visiting my LizzieMade blog and the nice comment you left me.
