this week it's back to stitching as I start my online embroidery course SIMPLY STITCH with Karen Ruane Contemporary Embroiderer.

I'm going to be concentrating on learning a range of hand stitches.

 I am really looking forward to it and creating some new pieces.

 I have grown my own spinach this year

 A tree at the top of my lane

 On the bridal path where I walk Kikki

 In my garden

 On our walk

 Another on our moorland walk

 No slugs on the hosta yet

 

 Nettles and a monkey tree

What's on my workdesk today ........

 The only bit of stitch this week is on these postcards I have made from my own photographs of the rusty typewriter in my garden.

 I have finished the watercolour class I have been doing online.

Now I am working on a few orders I've got coming in for end of year presents for favoured teachers.

 I am starting a new online course with contemporary embroiderer Karen Ruane on Monday it will be my fourth one with her.  This one is called SIMPLY STITCH, self explanatory I think.

Expect more sewing pictures next week.

Sunshine and handbags

What a joy to at last get to our caravan at Ayside in Cumbria.

First time this year thanks to our friends and neighbours Jan & Mark offering to look after little Kikki who doesn't travel well.

We had a trip down to Ulverston for a bit of shopping and came across this lovely teashop

right next door to the shop that had this bag in the window.

 I went in to have a look at the others that they had and was fascinated to learn that they are made from original oil paintings and hand stitched.  They really were the most unusual and wonderful bags I have ever seen but at £275 I'm sorry to say they had to stay on the shelf.

Back at the caravan park which is looking very pretty with all its flora and fauna I got down to a bit of painting for my online art course and finished a watercolour project I have been working on.

 

 

Wonderful sunshine, wonderful friends and a lovely relaxing time.

Can't wait to do it all again.
