1,647 Sketchbooks To Get Through

And here they all are ready to go on the shelves.  If you have missed what this is all about have a look at this link MY WELL TRAVELLED SKETCHBOOK.

I met up with St. Ives artist Sally MacCabe and we had a great time looking through the books together.  (sorry about the pic my hubby took it)

"Along the line" was her theme and using different paint effects and images you were led along a golden line through every page.  It was fabulous.

Next I looked at the book of Carolyn Saxby another St. Ives artist who I  recently met up with during a family holiday in Cornwall.  Carolyn's theme was "In 10 Minutes"  She photographed images then broke them down by zooming in further and further with fantastic results.

I could'nt wait to see what Diana Taylor of Velvet Moth Studio had come up with and I wasnt disappointed.  Her theme was  "I remember you".  Each page was a joy to turn with the story, textures and paint effects.

Have a look at some more of her book here

I forgot to tell you about the process for selecting a book to read.  You inputed a name or theme into the computer and your book selection was then handed to you.   At the same time you are given the book next to it on the shelf.  Books were catalogued by their theme.  This book by Jane Housham of Hitchin, Hertfordshire was the one next to Diana's.  It was a very moving book about her mother and the enormous amount of work and emotion that had gone into it blew us all away.
Have a look at the pages for yourself.

One last book I am going to show you today is Sally's mum's - Val Moon.

I will be back with more books tomorrow.  Stay tuned and thank you for looking in.
