Jessie Chorley workshop at Indigo Moon

Friday evening was spent in the great company of these two, Tina and Jessie. 

We visit Jessie's shop when we go down to London, its a must if you are a stitcher/papercrafter and love vintage.  Even if you are not its such a lovely shop so go and have a look.

Tina Gilmore owner of Indigo Moon in Montgomery, Wales along with her lovely hubby Gav has a fantastic stock of antique furniture downstairs and upstairs a gallery and studio.

On Saturday they had me hard at work all day creating a journal from an old book.

Look at the concentration on my face.

 

 

   

There's still tons to do in it but I'm happy with the way its going.

At the end of a very creative day we had a show and tell.

This is the front cover of a wedding journal  Hilary was making.

  The wedding is to be held in France and its on my birthday.

This is one of the rooms in Tina's shop/workshop.  I could have stayed forever.

These cuties are made by Tina's friend Nichola  Hulmston better known as Ninneynoo

When we were ready for leaving on Sunday, 

after picking up the wooden cabinet soon to be housed in my workroom, 

Tina gave me a gorgeous gift of two of her miniature

framed pieces and a card with some very special words in.

Not forgetting Nichola and Emma for all the cuppas and cake.

It was a fantastic weekend

What is it ?

Over the weekend we had an overnight stay in Southport where we went to see the 60's band The Hollies at Southport Theatre.  Dopey me thought it was at The Atkinson where we normally go, so we ended up missing the first 20 minutes.  Although the band were not really on my spectrum at the time, I was more into soul music, I have to admit to singing along to almost every song.  

In the afternoon we were looking forward to some charity shop rummaging.  Southport must have the most charity shops in the North, but sad to say they were all rammed with M&S gear, George & TU.  The only bit of vintage I found was a Richard Stump jacket that was so boring I wouldn't have given it house room.

I did pick up this wicker basket for a couple of quid though and this little lady who looked like she needed a kind arty farty eclectic type home to live in. How could we leave her there looking so forlorn with a £2 price tag on her.  Mr Dappper Chap has renamed her Iris Lavender. We didn't think Hazel which was on her tag suited her.

I'm going to give her a new hairdo, she looks like she's been pulled through a bush backwards. Poor love.

 

The next day we called in Bygone Times at Eccleston, Chorley. If its your first visit it will cost you £2.50 each to get in then return visits are free.

 Last time we were there I picked up a set of drawers that needed new handles for £8. I made some out of beads and wire. 

I must have picked the magazine rack up twenty times and in the end could not resist it.  Its going to hold some neatly cut pieces of craft paper ready for my workshops.

 

This basket had to come home, its sat on the kitchen table now with a plant in it until I decide if its going outside or not.

One trader had a whole stand devoted to music scores and as its something I've often struggled to find, these books were snapped up as the paper is lovely and old and the books are really thick so loads of sheets to craft with.

 This Colin Gascoe dress was a bargain labelled at £15 and an even bigger bargain at £7.50. It was half price. The same went for the J. Oscar Sharpe blouse I nearly bought on our last visit, it came in at £9. I'm glad I waited.
