I’ve no desk to show you because it’s been a full on time with family.
We met up with Philip’s cousin Stephen who lives in Florida
and was over here visiting his family. It’s over 35 years since we’ve
seen him.
Then last weekend our beautiful niece Kimberley married her
soulmate Dan at Mitton Hall in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire.
What an amazing day and what an amazing venue. Built at the end
of the 15th century. The crowning glory of the building is the magnificent
oak panelled Great Hall.
It’s the first time we’ve seen some of the family for two years.
In that time our nephew Tom and his wife Chloi have had their
first baby, Louii Frank Foley.
and it was so lovely to be with our nieces again.
Our great nephews did a fine job on their speech which was
in the form of a cheeky poem.
Kim’s stunning dress was a charity shop buy with all the
money going to a local hospice.
The happy couple are honeymooning in York for now and
when time allows will be jetting off to warmer climes.
So I’ll wish you all a happy Christmas and let’s hope 2022
I’ll hold my hand up and say I’m not comfortable being with
lots of folk but there was no way we would miss out on such
a special day.
is a better year for everyone. Thank you for your good wishes
and cards you lovely lot.
And remember to
See you on the other side
Love
Lynn

ReplyDeleteHello, you! So lovely to see a post pop up. What a wonderful time you've had!
ReplyDeleteGood looks certainly run in both your families, Philip's cousin is very handsome, isn't he? Kimberley looks ravishing, Tom & the baby are gorgeous and the neices are beauties.
The wedding location is incredible, what a magnificent setting! You pair scrub up very nicely, too. Well worth breaving the crowds for such a special day!

Hi Lynn, what a lovely, happy post. You've clearly had a fabulous time recently. It's wonderful to see family you haven't seen in a long time and meet the newest addition to the family too. Your niece's dress is gorgeous and she looked beautiful. I share your discomfort attending anything that involves a lot of people so I'm glad you enjoyed that very special day. Have a great week and Merry Christmas to you and yours. Elizabeth x #22
ReplyDeleteA lovely, happy post Lynn, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! xx Jo

ReplyDeleteYou two have certainly been living it up!
ReplyDeleteYour niece's dress is absolutely stunning, and how amazing that it was a charity shop buy! It must have been wonderful to meet up with family members old and new after all this time. And how stunning is Mitton Hall!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the both of us xxx
What a lovely happy post! I enjoyed reading it! And what a lovely idea to wear a charity shop dress ( which is gorgeous by the way) and then giving money to the hospice. The hospices really need the money because they have not been able to fundraise much during the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteMilton hall looks beautiful. I will have a look at the link.
Have a wonderful Christmas you two,
Love, Lisca
ah Lynn, I can feel the love and bonhomie swirling about, what a fab wedding. You’re right about the venue, and how magical it looked in its Christmas dress. What a lovely way to have a reunion after two and thirty five years! I hope that Christmas week continues to be as lovely. I wouldn’t have missed out on that either, there’s a limit to how much I’m going to allow my thrice vaccinated self miss out on, and that venue is large enough not to feel crowded. Your beautiful neice is a chip off the block with her wonderful wedding dress, you must be very proud of her! Love to you for a happy Christmas, and yep, a clear and less scary 2022. Xxx
ReplyDeleteI love to see all those family pics, you lucky you! We, in the Netherlands, are in lockdown and not allowed to invite more than 2 people over (with X-mas days 4...) so I don't see much people at the moment. Luckely there's phonecalls and video chats! I wish you and all your loved ones Merry Christmas and a wonderful, healthy and creative New Year! Love from Holland, Marit #14
ReplyDeleteOh what a completely busy time you've had chick, but it all looks beautiful, hoe you're getting chance to put your feet up now lovely xxx
