A cat, a hat and a loony welder

Caught in the hat.
I know it looks like I’m there for the duration but the truth is
I’m jumping up and down every 10 minutes doing something or other.
I just really wanted to finish my book.

Even Rosie, next doors cat can’t keep still.  She rolls about a lot.

That’s when she’s not drinking stagnant water out of the pond
Or screaming for her tummy to be tickled.

Oh my goodness look what the wandering welder got upto, complete
with a gammy back.  He’s mad, that damn window has been broken
for at least two years, I’m sure it could have waited another week or two.

Mad as a box of frogs.
But at least he’s repaired it now.
Next up we have two big sealed window units that need changing.

I did a bit of potting up with the plants from the market on Wednesday.

Last night was spent watching Gardeners World and a great music event on
BBC1  Gary Barlow and a band of musicians and singers he put together.
It was so good I watched it twice.

This morning I’m setting up things ready for a zoom meeting with the
No Rules Textile Society.  After that I’m sure I’ll be out in the garden again.

Enjoy the sunshine

  1. Enjoyed reading what you were up to...relaxing in the garden and jumping up and down to do something else is, to me, very recognisable. I'm exactly the same, "oh that plant needs watering, putting seedlings in a more sunny spot, pruning an overhang of Rosemary, which throws a shadow on my olive tree (tiny)"and so on...enjoy your ourside time.....

    1. Hello Adrianne
How lovely to hear from you. I’ve taken the doubled up comment off. I don’t know what’s happening with blogger recently, lots of people are complaining about the commenting section, saying theirs are not working. I’ve had problems myself.
Anyway how are you. I see you are still crafting. I’m glad it’s not just me who has ants in her pants and can’t keep still haha.
Have a lovely weekend, assuming you’re not working
      Lynn xx

  2. I hope this comment gets to you ( Blogger doesn’t like iPads).
Hoe lovely to be able to sit out in the garden. You deserve it, even though you keep thinking of doing other things. ( I recognize this behavior). Here it is raining would you believe. We desperately need the rain so we’re happy.
I was holding my breath when I saw hubby on the ladder, with his bad back. Men are like that. My husband is building a chicken run and hutch. he should be taking it easy really.
I love your little succulent pot. You might have to keep it indoors in your climate.

    1. I have got your comment Lisca. It would appear blogger is playing silly beggars at the moment.
I’m sat outside now and jumped up to pot up some plants, then again to collect some books for my next textile project. I haven’t opened them though haha.
Glad it’s not just me that’s like ferret
Hope the sunshine returns to you soon
      Lynn xx

  3. Love your pot of succulents. I brought home a couple that I bought from St Michaels Mount last week on holiday. They are now potted up and outside my back door. Still more endless weeding and cutting back to be done. Your Hubby is a bit of a daredevil hanging out the window!

    1. We went to St. Michael’s mount some years ago with my mum and sister and came across a fabulous vintage shop. I wonder if it’s still there.
Enjoy the garden once you’ve finished weeding.

  4. i am like you I cannot sit still i am a proper fidget briget and I end up sitting inside as I end up getting hot and sweaty. I had my uv gloves on yesterday as I don’t like getting sunburned. They go half way up my arm I don’t care what people think . It’s a Japanese thing.
That man of yours will end up in proper trouble ! I admire him though I cannot get Paul to do anything at all. Love the little planter you made keep safe love and hugs

    1. I’ve never heard of UV gloves. It matters not what they look like if they do the job.
I was cringing watching him hanging the window. He’s like danger man xxx

  5. Phew, I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't keep still and jumps up every 10 minutes to do something! Relaxing in the garden is especially difficult for me. And oh no, what is Philip doing up there with his bad back? I guess he won't listen to reason, just like Jos. Men! xxx

    1. There’s not a lot you can say Ann is there when they insist on doing everything themselves. It’s a curse and a blessing rolled into one haha xxx

  6. Look at you reclining in the sunshine! I hope you've got your factor 30 on, though!
I can lie out there for hours and hours when the sun's out and I've got a good book on the go, it's the only time I'm ever still.
Love the succulants but for goodness sake's Philip, get down off there and look after your back! xxx
