Friday Smiles. ........ everyone’s trying to get in on the act

Joining in with

This was me the day after my first vaccine jab.
Having a headache, a few chills and being shattered
for a day are a small price to pay for long term safety.

In any case it was good to legitimately do nothing
all day.

As I’m behind with myself, himself said he’d step in and give
you an update on his wardrobe.  This is his man cave look.

I personally much prefer him in his Sound of Music outfit.

Now we can’t let a Friday go by without one of my Mum’s
cartoons that she posts on Facebook.  The other cartoon
is one she put on as well, I’ve pinched it for storytelling purposes.

Oh crikey the whole family wants to get in on the act today.
My brother in law sent this.

Hi Lynn, Here is one for your blog. Elena has washed Thomas's favourite football shirts he had as a lad and Man Utd supporter. They have washed well and are blowing in the fresh breeze. They date from circa 1993 to 2003.

Even my car and the Doodly birds are putting in an appearance.

Coronation Street fans may remember these two actors.
No not the two in the middle.
They are attending the grand opening of a flower shop.

You guessed it, it is owned by another family member.
Obviously before Covid.

Well I think that’s enough from the Holland, Coulthurst,
Foley clan for one week.

Have a good weekend whatever you’re upto.
Keep smiling, spring is on its way.

Lynn

Ps.  Hello Tina & Peggy, I’m sure you’ll be tuning in xx

  1. I’m glad you’ve had your vaccine...there is light at the end of the tunnel....I hope.love the photos...tell him I prefer his Sound of Music look best too 😀. I love the cards/cartoons with your car and the Dooly birds.

  2. The funny sounds familiar. After I'd had my vaccination was the first time I'd fell a sleep on the sofa since I finished teaching and a couple of days later I awoke in the night with a stinking headache but it's gone now. We were told that these things are a good sign that the body is fighting and building up antibodies. Coronation fans...I don't know what you mean Lol! Never miss it or Emmerdale. Take care and have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Angela xXx

  3. I am glad you got your first shot for the virus. I'm not eligible yet, so it could be a few months before I get mine. By that time, they may have one for the new viruses that are coming to America (yes, that's a song title reference).

I enjoyed your funnies, even if some went over my head. Hope you are now feeling better. Your husband is certainly dashing. Hope you have a great weekend.

  4. You are way ahead of us with Vaccine. I wish we could have ours but supplies are proving to be a problem so it will be another month or two before we get called. I love that line up of washing and it reminds me of my son who also has a goodly collection of shirts - Arsenal one s though.
I think we all need some sunshine now and the opportunity to venture out a bit, before all our brains ossify! have a good week. Kate x

  5. Thank you for the smiles, Lynn. As for your Mum's cartoon, I often find that wearing my mask makes me forgetful ;-)
I hope your headache and chills have packed their bags by now, but as you said, they were a small price to pay! xxx

  6. What a lovely post, it gave me a few chuckles. My reaction to my first vaccine was identical to yours.

  7. I'm still chuckling, and of course your wandering plumber is a sight to behold. I like him in his Sound of Music outfit, although the Coronation Street attire comes a close second.
By the time you read this your vaccination symptoms will have gone away and you will be right as rain.
I smiled at the cartoon. I have to repeat my shopping list too and I have to say: Eggs, bread, milk, MASK!
You got me singing now Side By Side. (They don't make'em like that anymore!)
I didn't get the funny about the shirts, but then, I know nothing of football so that's probably why.
    Have a lovely weekend,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  10. I much prefer the Sound of Music look to the practical man cave one!
That kitten sounds like Jon, he's off on his weekly food shop in a bit and he's bound to forget something even if it is on the list. My mask is ready for tomorrow, I'm off to Wilco's, the second time I've been inside a shop since 2020 - I can hardly take the excitement!
Great news about your vaccine, the reaction must mean you've got a brilliant immune system. xxx
