Is it my age or is time flying by at a right rate of knots. Where did August go it has flown by.
It was filled with friends, family, my never ending birthday, lots of wonderful cards and beautiful presents, my sister coming back up north on a visit for the first time since February, lots of good books, a return to eating out and one or two new frocks, a posh handmade cardi and a night at our little caravan in the Lake District. Fabulous.
So what of September ?
You won’t hear me moaning and ranting about nights drawing in, the state of the country, the fear of a second wave etc etc etc.
Instead I’m looking at the good stuff, appreciating the small things. Sunshine, smiles, good food, a nice cuppa, a good book, a night telly watching, birds singing, a nice bath or shower, seeing my neighbours, the friendly postman, gawping out the window, daydreaming. You get the idea.
You might think I’m a bit of a Pollyanna, seeing everything with rose tinted spectacles. I’m not, I’m like everyone else, I have my problems and worries and I’m not blind to all that is going on. But all the moaning and ranting in the world is not going to make me feel one bit better. I am tired of listening to it and it being the normal way of how we all talk when in fact there is so much to celebrate and be grateful for. So I’m declaring September a whinge free month.
Happen I should get a placard or a mask with WHINGE & RANT FREE ZONE printed on it haha.
Enjoy all that this beautiful month presents to you and stay safe and aware.
Beans on toast for tea. Care to join us.

is that heather I see? what a beautiful place you live in. Yes I am trying to ignore the whingers, we have so much to be grateful for and the constant whining on the news, radio etc., is creating a very uhealthy mindset.
ReplyDeleteIt is heather and we have lots and lots of it around us on the moorland and blackberries.
DeleteThanks for popping in and sharing September in all its splendour

I needed to hear that Lynn thanks! I'm prone to a whinge so it's good to be reminded to look on the brightside!
ReplyDeleteI’m clapping my hands here and smiling at you.
DeleteThanks for calling by to say hello. Enjoy this lovely month
Lynn xx
i am just like you what will be will be. You can’t do anything about it. I have just booked the family winter break to the Sapporo snow festival, there is a smaller version next year but I don’t care.
ReplyDeleteI go to work to my job go home and be with my family, I’m happy. We are lucky I suppose.
Take care and keep smiling
That’s great news. Something to plan and look forward to. We have a roof over our heads, food on the table and family. We are blessed indeed xx
DeleteNothing wrong with an occasional whinge as long as its in the confines of your own home with your nearest & dearest and not shared on social media and blogland where it does nothing other than drag everyone else down.
ReplyDeleteIf it's Pollyannaish to share beautiful places and small pleasures then I'm in your gang. xxx
It’s the day to day conversations with folk that gets to me. Last week I had to say to a friend I hadn’t seen for a while. Tell me about the good things that have happened not all the bad stuff.
DeleteSo let’s keep doing what we’re doing Vix. Who knows our little gang may get a bit bigger if we get our message across enough xxx
Isn't it annoying when people bring the seasons on prematurely?? Not be long before the Xmas adverts start, providing Xmas hasn't been cancelled!!Hope your September goes as fantastically well as August did for you.
ReplyDelete“tell me of the good things in your life” seems to be becoming my stock phrase and it stops people in their mid moan or rant. I could get a T-shirt with it printed on the front Hee hee

Hello, Just to say that I love your personal style and avidly look to see what dresses, skirts, jumpers etc you are wearing. I call it ' Holly Hobbie' after the figure from the 70s. Keep sporting your curtain couture too, I am a big fan of charity shop dressing though some members of my family think it a bit strange to do so. Keep smiling and being positive too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments and for calling by. It’s nice to know I’m doing something good. I admire you for being brave enough to be an individual no matter what folk think.
DeleteTake care
Lynn xx
I'm with you for a whinge free September, and beyond. I avoid the news, like you I'm aware of what's going on, but I don't want it constantly at the forefront of my mind. I'm looking forward to a coach trip tomorrow with two friends. We are going to Rye, and it just happens to be market day.
ReplyDeleteOh I love a Market Day. Hope you have a fabulous time and a smile and chuckle along the way. I’m thinking of you.

Hi Lynn can I join your none winge gang? I love September because it’s my birthday month. The small things of life are the best, someone makes you a cuppa, you get a nice personal letter in the post, you hear the birds sing, the evenings when you curl up under your favourite fleece, you scrump a load of apples to go with your garden bramble blackberries. I could go on for ages but won’t just to say I love your style. Brummie Sue
ReplyDeleteYou can join our no whinge gang. The more the merrier heehee. We could start a new trend.
DeleteThank you so much for your lovely words and for calling by.
Here’s to all us rosey tinted spectacles folk.

Thank you for such an inspiring and uplifting post Lynn, wishing you a very happy September x
ReplyDeleteAnd the same to you Mrs B. I hope you have a jolly good one xx
DeleteI'll be taking a leaf out of your book and try not to whinge too much in September, although right now I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself that my little holiday is over :-) I'll try to relive it all by blogging about it, so there! Sounds like you had a great August in spite of everything that's going on. Meeting friends, staying at your caravan and celebrating your birthday: you were truly blessed, my friend! xxx
