Lockdown Diary - Books, Pumpkins & the pub

Saturday morning arrived with sunshine and a cold wind.  I started a new book on Friday night but it might have to be a daytime read as I kept giggling.  Not good when the wandering welder is trying to nod off.

Mr Postman brought me some of these lovely velvet pumpkins from Instagram/Etsy seller Flossie & Boo.  They are beautifully made.

We wished our lovely friend Angela good luck in her new home by dropping off an afternoon tea tray from Park Farm Tearooms before going onto the carpet shop to hopefully make a final decision on a new carpet for the living room.

Sunday I started the enormous task of clearing the office out.  As we are preparing to wind down and retire from our business of 40 years you can imagine the amount of paperwork there is.

It had to be the pub for tea, we felt we deserved it and also our local hostelry needs our support and have worked hard to keep things as normal as possible during these trying times.  Apart from everyone having to wear masks entering or leaving the pub it was very relaxed and the food was as fantastic as always.

Well let’s see what this week brings us.  Here in Lancashire we are in local lockdown and are not allowed to visit other folks houses and gardens again or mix with other households.  As long as we all keep well, do our own risk assessments and get through this it’s a small price to pay.
