Not a work desk in sight

Not a workdesk in sight this morning.

Just a big old tree outside my bedroom window

A cup of tea

A new book to read.  A story set in the Greek islands in the 60’s. A bohemian community of musicians, writers and painters and a teenage girl with a bunch of empty notebooks who looks on.

There’s adventures of our own to be had today

But first there’s time to sit out a while and take in the flora and fauna all around our little caravan. The scent of the lilacs is so heady and sweet.

We’ve been waiting since the 1st March for this.
We are only away for one night this time as it’s my 65th birthday tomorrow and we are spending it with Mum.
But it feels so nice to be here I don’t think it will be long before we come back.

I will show you an early birthday present a friend made me.  It must have took hours to design and create.

It’s made from cardboard, fabric, lace and buttons and is full inside with treats, a little wrapped present and a card.  Isn’t it amazing.

Sorry I can’t get to visit all my desk hopping pals today.

See you next week.
Take care and stay safe
Lynn

  2. Happy Birthday for tomorrow Lynn, hope you celebrate in style! How lovely to get away to the caravan and properly chill out, such a nice thing to do after all the madness and upset of the past few months. Your present from your pal is lovely! Thank you for my jigsaw and angel, both feature on my blog today - the puzzle has already been completed, yesterday when it was just too hot to do anything but sit in the cool and enjoy the challenge!!
    Hugs LLJ 1 xxxx

  7. Guess we are not too far away from you in our caravan but boy is it hot. We are setting off for home later but it is too warm to contemplate cleaning up as yet.
Love the gift from your friend, that looks so pretty and I would say it is definitely 'you'.
Just sent for a sample for the book - sounds good but I have so many lined up to read I thought I would check it out first. Think the re-run of The Durrells has something to do with it appealing to me, love that programme.
    Hugs, Neet 8 xx

  9. What a lovely post, looks very peaceful and relaxing. I think the white flower is a buddleia, not a lilac. :) I could be wrong, but the leaves look like buddleia leaves to me, as do the flowers.

  11. Happiest of birthdays to you. Your caravan looks the bees-knees and I also think the 'lilac' is a buddleia - I've always wanted a white one. The new book looks interesting. I haven't had t'internet all day because the thunderstorms which turned into electric storms and last almost the whole night through, shut down my broadband but truth to tell, have hardly missed it!Your birthday gift from your friend is an amazing treasure. Have fun.

  12. I'm so pleased for you that you finally made it to the caravan! As Serenata commented, I do think the lilac is a buddleia, but it is looking gorgeous none the less. What a delightful early birthday, Lynn, and I'm sure there'll be many more to follow. Enjoy your stay, and wishing you already the happiest of birthdays for tomorrow! xxx

  19. Well Lynn, as I’m late to Wednesday, happy, happy birthday. I think in these times, it will be a lovely day because we want for very little, we’ve discovered, huh! What a gorgeous early gift already, so much time and love involved. I very much hope your short caravan stay has enriched you for long enough till you can get back, and reassured you too. It looks like a slice of heaven.
