A secret garden and birthday eve

Welcome

None of us were sure that this day would happen but it did and what a happy day it was.

In the beautiful secret garden of my Cumbrian friend Maria, a birthday eve celebration took place with friend Julia and the wandering welder.

Three giggly lasses got together for a picnic lunch and to sit and smile at one another and sigh with the pleasure of being in each other’s company again after such a long time.

There was an early birthday cake, presents exchanged and a tear or two because we had to stay apart and no hugging.

The wandering welder was there to oversee operations and be on hand for photoshoots.  He wasn’t interested in our  girly chat.  He was far happier soaking up the sun and guarding us from any wild animals on the loose.

Here’s Trinny, one of Maria’s four cats, joining the party and a view of The Hoad pepperpot in Ulverston. During lockdown walking up the steep slope to it has been good exercise for folk.

My Birthday Eve party was so nice and I hope we all get to meet again before the end of the year.

We drove back home later in the day after locking up our little caravan and wished we could have stayed longer.  It had been so nice to escape for awhile.  I can understand folk needing their holiday fix.  It was bliss being at our bolthole away from day to day living, even though we are very fortunate in where we live on top of our hill on the edge of the moorland.

There’s a birthday lunch to be had today but before that I’ve a pile of cards and some lovely presents to open first.

Please excuse me for being a tad excited I can’t help it.  It’s my age you know.   Any excuse haha.

Have a good day and as always stay safe
Lynn
