After a weekend of summer frocks and social distanced meet ups with friends and neighbours, this week we are back to rain, wind and the heating back on.. Its proper grim up north.
Iris Lavender my charity shop rescued primitive doll won’t be needing her watering can anytime soon.
Wednesday’s have turned into the day we go to our local market for fresh fruit & veg, fish, meat and a chance for a chat with the traders. It’s so nice that we have all got to know each other. It might be difficult to natter when we all start having to wear masks though.
We can’t come home without buying something for lunch from our favourite bakery which has moved shop and had a revamp. Almond slice for Philip and a piece of spice cake for me.
Today we popped into a new shop that opened one day before lockdown. The owner makes high quality handmade clothes and was thrilled to bits that we had called in to say how much we admired her window display and shop. We left mulling over ideas for having some of our clobber restyled.
I’m starting this book today. It’s about the author’s adventures busking from Norway to Portugal. It’s quite an emotional read as was her other book Homesick - Why I live in a shed. I think she is one brave person living the life she does. In many ways she is quite a solitary person.
I am still waiting for the libraries to reopen as I have a stack of books to return and so I decided to buy the books that I had on my amazon birthday wish list for next month.
Nearly forgot about my desk and what I’ve been doing. Well not a lot really, just a bit more stitching of the book bag I’m making for my 1894 autograph album.
Keep safe everyone and don't forget to take your mask out with you
See you soon
Lynn
