Remember the Travelling Petticoat I mentioned in 2019, well I’ve stitched my piece onto it now and written in the journal that accompanies it.
She is now travelling onto the next Petticoat Sister.
Still in the UK but after that, who knows where in the world she will end up.
Carrying on with my “Deeper Not Wider” thing for 2020, I’ve been in my wardrobe, which resembles Narnia, and I’ve dug out stuff that’s been there awhile and mixed it up to make different outfits. This lot is originally from charity shops and cost me around £12 in total.
Craft wise I have this little bundle to play with. They are pieces of fabric designed by a very talented young lady who trades under the name of Mrs Bertimus.
I may add some to pieces of clothing that need brightening up a bit. I could even frame some pieces or make something with them. I’ll give it a good coat of looking at before I decide.
Thanks for all your lovely comments last week and I’m glad I’ve inspired some of you to think “deeper not wider”.
Looking closer at what you already have and the things you do.

Well Mrs Bertimus needs me to visit, what lovely things! loving the new put together on the outfit, good for you. That cardi is a great tool, and I love the brooch! Love the sentiment you decided on for the petticoat, it’s lovely to think of it in so many careful stitchy hands.
ReplyDeleteI really love what you did on the petticoat...its such a lovely idea.
ReplyDeleteYou really do have a way of putting an outfit together and looking lovely.

The petticoat is such a lovely idea and your addition is lovely. The "new" outfit is fab - you have the knack of putting stuff together! xx Jo
ReplyDeleteThe magic of the Traveling petticoat .. Gorgeous stitchery Mrs ! And I love Mrs B’s work ! All very beautiful indeedy ! xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the doll in the first picture - she looks like a mini you. Love the petticoat idea, much easier and cheaper to post around than the corset I was once involved with. For some reason people did not finish their obligations and mine never did reach the 'complete' stage but I did strive to do everyones myself.
ReplyDeleteLove the new outfit you have put together. Keep looking.
Hugs, Neet 6 xx
Your ideas are so clever and inventive...I think we're all mindful of making use of what we already have. The Mrs Bertimus pieces are fab, I can totally see those on clothing!

ReplyDeleteYou look a million dollars for £12 - definitely money well spent. Love the petticoat - I wonder where it will finally finish it's journey and how many sisters it has. Mrs Bertimus - what a charming name and her work is beautiful. Worthy of you giving it a good coat of looking at - fab turn of phrase. Elizabeth x #18
ReplyDeleteI must have missed the petticoat thing - what a great idea! Happy WOYWW Helen #1
ReplyDeleteThat travelling petticoat is such a lovely idea, and I love the piece you have added. I'm also admiring Mrs. Bertimus's fabric pieces, how utterly gorgeous and original they are! And, finally, your wardrobe/charity shopped outfit is meeting my full approval, especially that wonderful maxi skirt. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to Narnia myself ;-) xxx
ReplyDeleteAmazing fabric. I remember about the petticoat, but not what the ultimate goal was. Happy WOYWW x Angela #22
ReplyDeleteThe Traveling Petticoat . . . I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the Narnia-wardrobe outfit! That brooch provides the perfect finishing touch. I would definitelty be framing the fabric portrait of the girl with a bird. It's beautiful.
