Tis Done Now - woyww

“TIS DONE NOW”

Good morning desk hoppers, here’s the embroidery hoop I was working on last week.  Not often I can post a finished project haha.

Looking round my studio room (so called by my lovely hubby) My eyes fell up on some pieces I stitched together a few years ago when I did an online course with embroiderer Karen Ruane.

and I’ve decided to work back into them by adding words and I’m going to attach them to hangers.  The little flowery thing isn’t really a hanger it was something I found for a £1 in the garden centre and rather liked the look of.

Once the pieces are finished and on the wall I’ll show you a picture.  This is the first piece of three.  All done from imagination and random pieces of vintage cloth and lace.

So dear friends that’s where you will find me today as my 16 year old VW Beetle is having her repairs done to get her through the MOT.  Looking at the weather though I’m going to take advantage of a nice walk on the moors as well.

Hope you all have a happy creative week
Lynn xx

  7. A walk on the Moors....I have never had the ability to say that! I don't know if we have anything to compare here in the Southern US. It does sound so romantic though! Happy WOYWW!

  10. Beautiful work, Lynn. The hoop is lovely and like that 'tis done now'. The corn of your studio is so very interesting - you know how to create a vignette to draw the eye. Hope you enjoyed your walk on the moor. Elizabeth x #28

  11. Keeping my fingers crossed for Frida, the poor girl! Had to smile at the words "tis done now". Well, it couldn't have been more apt. I love how you've added words and that £ 1 flower thingy from the garden centre to that lovely, lacy piece. I hope you enjoyed your walk on the moors. So envious you've got that on your doorstep! xxx

  19. Lynn I love your embroidery. When I see such beauty, it makes me want to pick up a needle and embroid something. I have bought supplies so many times with the greatest of intentions and then push it aside. Have a blessed weekend and thanks for the visit.

  20. Oh the colours in that embroidery work so beautifully together - it's such a delicate, pretty thing you've made! I love the idea of custom dying threads - it's hard to find just the right shades in mass-produced products sometimes. I was sorely tempted to experiment with this idea after I saw your last post - now I've seen the finished project I'm definitely going to have to give it a go! Thank you for sharing!

  21. This is a lovely piece Lynn - I didn't realise you had done one of Karen's courses? I've done loads. We must compare notes one day, next time we meet at Anne's. Xx Barbara @superstitcher on IG.
