Breeding bunnies

I’m sharing my Auntie Gladys’s Workdesk with
you today as I think she’s a bit of a star.

For her birthday I bought her a knitted bunny from an Instagram friend of mine and she named it Bobby after
one of our little dogs that she used to be quite fond of.

Well now she has gone on to knit two of her own
Bunny and Kikki.

The thing is she’s made them without a pattern.  The method she used was to count the stitches across and the number of rows knitted for each piece.  Isn’t she amazing.  She even made Kikki a little bag.

It’s hard to tell which is the original and which are her creations.

Did you spot the knitted cushion at the back. That was made with scraps of wool she had from years ago.

Not bad to say she has cataracts.  Can’t make my mind up if she’s canny or not. Funny how she can see enough to count stitches but when it comes to cleaning she says she can’t see to do it hahahaha.   Think I’ll try that one.

Have a good week desk hoppers

Ps.  The utility room & kitchen
decorating is finished now.

  1. I think I like your Aunt Gladys' thinking. At her age I think she is perfectly entitled to be able to count stitches but not to be able to see to clean. What a super job she has made of those knitted bunnies. Give her a hug from me.
Love the finished utility room and kitchen, especially that cupboard door. Fab!

  2. I crochet and sometimes I can feel my stitches and can watch tv at the same time. I think your Aunt is a rock star! I never learned to knit and think her talents are amazing!

  3. I think your Aunty Gladys is a bit of a star!! The old ways of knitting are the best, to be honest...there never used to be patterns. What skill she has! And her reason for not cleaning is marvellous, I shall take a leaf out of her book!

  4. Hi Lynn, she has done a grand job. They remind me of knitted toys- and there was a bunny amongst them- that my Mom made for me when I was little.Love her reason for not doing the cleaning, lol. Have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #4 X

  5. Your Auntie Gladys is amazing and I think I see where you get your creative genes from. I have cataracts developing in both eyes too and I find I can still knit, you don't need sight to count stitches, but I can't spot cobwebs so I'm with your auntie there. Lovely to see your finished utility room and kitchen finished. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #24

  6. That's real canny thinking from Auntie Glady's Lynn and rightly so she is entitled to pick and choose what she wishes to see. Lovely to see how she was inspired by Bobby, something my Mother would do. You home decor is fabulous, lovely to put our own mark on things. Happy WoywW Tracey #17

  11. Had to smile at your Aunt. Remember when my daughter was younger she would see an item of clothing she wanted would tell her gran where she had seen it, gran would then go to the store with tape measure, buy material and make it for her. No patterns etc, suppose similar to your aunt. Ani #18

  12. Really Lynn you can't expect an artist to do her own housework Lol! I'm wondering if she counts the stitches partly with her fingers though not sure how she manages to knit but so what! as long as she's happy what the heck! Give her big hug from me. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x11x

  15. Your aunt is a star indeed! Love those bunnies... great job knitting and I think I'll take that phrase about not seeing the dirt, ha! Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog last week, I am late with my visit due to tropical days in the Netherlands (too warm to sit at the computer in the atelier - too hot to do anything really...)
