I'll just sit with Ted for a minute while
I tell you about this cheap outfit.
Firstly the cardi was a charity shop find
The skirt was originally a curtain
I found in a charity shop
You can't see it but it has a matching
top
The tights are made from Bamboo.
Don't ask me how that works, I've no idea.
A friend of mine was buying a pair and raved
about them, so I thought why not.
I've had mine a couple of years but you can get them here
I'm still rocking my vintage petticoat.
Because its full length its like wearing a vest as well.
Very warm.
The boots are Fly London from Ebay
and the bag was made by one of the
vintage traders at Stockport Vintage Village,
using vintage fabrics
This Sunday its Valenties Vintage Village
Can't wait

Curtain Couture rocks especially when it's accompanied by a curtain ring brooch!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time at VV - happy bargain hunting. xxx
Lovely! That cardigan looks so much like a Marion Foale design? She was such an inspirational knitwear designer, and I recollect she did a range for M&S.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look her up. Sounds interesting.
DeleteYou are too young to remember Foale & Tuffin, designers in the Swinging 60's, they made wonderful clothes. Still at school, I copied them on my Mum's sewing machine after buying fabric with the wages from my Saturday job at the local Co-op Hardware store. Then wore them to Ashton under Lyne Palais on Sunday nights. They had great bands on - The Kinks and The Who spring to mind. Happy days!
ReplyDeleteFoale & Tuffin parted ways and Marion went into knitwear design; Sally Tuffin went onto to establish a pottery with her husband, Dennis Pottery I think.
Two very talented ladies.
You to are very talented to be able to copy them. It put me in my of watching Cilla Blacks story last year. The Kinks made some great music, we saw the theatre show in London. One I'd go and see again.
DeleteThanks for telling me your wonderful story
