Hello deskhoppers and fellow bloggers, my heading makes
me sound like Gypsy Rose Lee this week.
Remember the scarf I finished last week
well I am giving it to a friend for her birthday.
I've made a box from vintage wallpaper to put it in.
Quick as you like i've started another
scarf before the momentum vanishes.
I also found a use for some old wooden pegs
that have been lurking in a basket for ages
And who would have thought you could draw
inspiration from a bar of soap.
Doodling with inks.
Have a great day and don't forget to
pop over and see some inspirational
workdesks over at Julia's place
I love how you make such lovely things from treasured fabrics...a bit like my Memory bears to me. I love using the washed and 'lived in' fabrics cos they take on a whole new existence for me. As for the inspiration you got from your bar of soap......I love it 😊 Keep up the good work.

You always show such interesting ideas, Gypsy Rose! The tweed scarf is brilliant, I wonder how the next one is going to turn out? The wallpaper box is the icing on the cake for me, so simple and yet very effective, love it!

I am so pleased you are going to create another scarf. Love the wrapping of the gift and beautiful bright soap. Of course you would find inspiration in soap .... you have such an eye for for style.

ReplyDeleteThat vintage wallpaper box is such a great idea. I'm sure your friend will be delighted! You might be Gypsy Rose, but Jos always calls me Second Hand Rose ... I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me to dig up a scarf I'd stitched together with pieces of woollen fabric. I'm going to add a few things to it and give it life. xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, I've seen some of those soaps before and I can well see why you might feel inspired by them and the pattern is lovely. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 18
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely snugly scarf to come!
ReplyDeletePretty start to those doodles. I feel out of sorts as I haven't been able to create much.Amazing how we need to keep our fingers busy. Bet the ladies at The Centre loved their peg doll making back then.
I just love how you created some doodling from a cheery bar of soap! How fun! Also love the birthday box you created for your friend. Clever and SO cute! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are always so inspiring and always have such different things going on! I love the wallpaper box, and the scarf is gorgeous - and inspiration from a bar of soap? Only you could do that!!! Such a pleasure to visit!
ReplyDeleteIsn't inspiration wonderful! It comes in so many forms, I feel bad for people who are surrounded by inspiration every day and just don't see it. You are obviously not one of those [people! I love how you used that bar of soap to inspire your doodling! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #41
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated WOYWW. I love the box you made. Yes, I have also started to store my ribbons on wooden pegs. I saw it on a blog a few years ago and promptly bought all the stock at our local Wilco! I haven't finished winding them on - I rarely use ribbon now, so thinking of donating it to charity. Loving the soap inspiration. Ali x #32
ReplyDeleteYou are always so busily creative, Lynn, I am very impressed! The scarf and box look gorgeous. xxx
