What's on my workdesk today........

Remember my workdesk last week I showed you pages from my design book for my online course. Here's a bit more for you to look at.
Fabric samples I printed at college in 2003 which I am going to use.

Fabrics & threads that I have just dug out of my stash of stuff.  We are going to start stitching sample pieces next week.  Look at the lovely rolls of paper tape my blog friend Mo Allan sent me as a gift. They are gorgeous.
I might be making a mistake telling you this, but for one of my final pieces I would like to make a miniature half apron to frame.  I love that frothy pinny in the bottom corner.  I am not a stitcher you see, but that is one of the reasons for doing this course so that I push myself into it.

Now don't forget to see what the rest of the world have on their desks today

  2. Lovely colours in your works Lynn, always warm and cheerful! I don't believe that Lunch Lady Jan considered herself a stitcher before one day wanting to have a go, so I firmy believe that as you test your boundaries, so you will succeed..and I bet you enjoy it all immensley.

I am so looking forward to seeing what you make, I think you will do well when you make the frothy one - I have seen some of your work already, so I know you will do it well. Happy WOYWW, Anne x #57

  16. Wow, that's a blast of colour!! I had to find my sunglasses to read the rest of your blog!!! I like the look of your stash finds, they're so pretty. Can I say that your notebooks from 2 posts ago are amazing as well...I admire your planning, wish I could do that rather than simply throwing things together!

  17. I adore the lavender and yellow color palate and I am all about the apron thing! I love aprons--love making them...I wear them all the time...I've even been known to wear a cute homemade apron with jeans and t-shirt while shopping! In fact, I can't wait until spring so I can do that again (too cold right now to wear anything except warm leggings, furry boots and sweaters) I am so inspired by your apron concepts below too--I think we are all enjoying the fact that you are doing this course! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #112

  18. I love that apron too. Reminds me of one I once got sent from Belgium with their lace on it. It is like an old fashioned tea shoppe apron.
Good luck with yours and with all that you are doing on your course. It's been very interesting looking at what you are doing.
Hugs, Neet xx (thanks for visiting me earlier) xx

  21. Hello Lynn, your prints are just gorgeous - such lovely vibrant colours and fabulous florals. The first sewing project we were expected to make at primary school was an apron. It was all hand sewn and in that one item we learned number of sewing skills that all seamstresses should have. I like the idea of sewing a tiny apron for framing - rather like the samplers of old, something to cherish. Hope you've had a good day. Elizabeth x #40
