Still working on my design/work book for my Alchemy online course I made this sheet by painting a piece of copy paper with black ink then applying bleach with a cork.
Next I applied iron-on vilene to the back of the paper and machine stitched into it. I also cut out shapes and inlaid fabric. As usual my black fineliner pen came into play and I drew on stitch marks to resemble buttons. I also added some small wooden buttons.
With the paper pieces I cut out I collaged them onto the page.
I did'nt enjoy the machine stitching onto paper. I think I need more practise.
Next up I had a look at a great book by Mandy Shaw "Stitch With Love".
It demonstrates 11 simple handstitches showing both the left handed way (me) and right handed.

Hi Lynn, really like the hand bleached project, it looks so effective and the addition of the buttons finishes it off so well. The cutouts with inlaid paper is beautiful too. Hugs, Anne x
